No, I think you misheard me - I dream of being closer TO the San Diego Padres. So I can re-design their boring uniforms. They should play in long brown robes, I think.

The person below is not actually the person below.

Hmm.. does that statement work both ways with the up side down writing? There's one for the thinkers.

The person below has a hard time following the news, because he/she is always ogling the anchors.

The person below is, like myself, very sad that Lilith Fair is no longer, and that s/her never got to go.

Re: The person below

Only just Googled it. Looked quite good. I like Sleater Kinney and the Breeders and  it'd be nice to give new bands a chance to come through, so it is a shame it's gone. Still, I'm thinking of starting a music festival myself, but only featuring artists with curly hair smile Just kidding.

I'm granting the person below a well earned holiday, take as long as you like, you don't have to return to work until you feel you want to and you'll get full pay and I think this is a good time to tell you , you've just been awarded a 30% pay rise back dated to April and paid to you in a lump sum tomorrow morning.

Re: The person below

Actually blissed all of that is scarily true.  I would just like to say at this point that I am a little bit squiffed after an evening out with JF.  Thanks JF for a great evening.

Are you sure we haven't met?

Calligraphy is a kind of hobby. I'm not an expert, but I have my moments.

The person below me knows my true identity.

Well... there was nothing in my dark side that really interested me. I guess I just dont have what it takes to be a bad guy.

When I STARTED the scene they were Y-fronts, but by the time I finished, they were "Why, Lord, why?"-fronts?

The person below understands that Thomas Dolby is actually much cooler now that he has gotten older.

[note to Siobhan: I wish I had been lucky enough to grow up in a college town.  Sadly, I must say that I grew up in a much less exciting small town.  The incident I described just happened to occur during my post-college (note I did not say post-graduate) wandering years.  Actually, though, you guys may notice that many of the stories I describe take place at college or in the same college locale.  This is mostly because the majority of my earliest life-transforming moments took place there.]

Re: The person below

Pollarchill, your Thomas Dolby. thats who you are!!

The person below always has a pen because they always carry 5 with them. One in case the first one runs out, the third one incase that one runs out, and a spare just in case someone asks for a pen and another spare, in case either that one runs out, or someone else asks for a pen, and then you'll still have the 3 you need incase in the worst case scenario, that 2 of them should run out and if the 3rd one runs out, then you'll probly just have to ask someone else if they've got a pen.

So does that mean I've been sad and mean? Just kidding smile Yep, lots of changes going on on the inside of this heart of mine. And very oddly enough much of it has been facilitated by IFM. So I guess the term "bootstrapped" may not be totally true because it implies having little or no assistance.

Due to my lack of  "success" in these matters, I hesitate to presume I can offer a pearl of wisdom (maybe a grain of grief, will that do?), although I do regard a past relationship as "true love" (glad I'm not being asked to define that!). I've been mulling over a possible contribution to the "romance" thread because I have something I'd like to get off my chest, so this feels like a kind of warm up.  Well, here we go. It's brief and unexciting:  Do not get hung up in the "I'm just not good enough" - syndrome.

Well then...

The person below fears (or has feared it at one time or another) being too idealistic about love/romance.

excellent. all seems normal again. deux ex machina.

Elfman -- sorry to keep you up fidding with this. When you have figured it out, would you kindly delete these last two posts of mine. Many thanks!

I'm off to take my trusty and devoted and charming crew out to celebrate one another and the great job they have done this year. you all should come along as well, as you have been kind enough to help keep me sane during a difficult half-year of work.

If you'd like to come along vicariously, we're going to the Grove Park Inn which was, for one brief moment, the largest resort in the world.

www.groveparkinn.com   -- the website is set up so you can't really see what i want to show you -- fireplaces that are 12 feet tall, made from handhewn granite. it's great to sit in front of them and drink hot buttered rum til one is toasted.

Thank you Siobhan.  I regret that your earlier posts of today on this thread have disapeared.  Richard may be able to restore them but I'm afraid I can't.  If the problem does re-occur please don't delete any posts.  Let the tech specialists sort it out.  Sorry that I couldn't be of more help to you.

Right everyone.  This thread is "open for business" again.

That looks brilliant! it's huge! I'll come along vicariously and have a swim in the pool. Hope you have a great time smile

The person below is definitely up for a trip to grove park as well!

Shall I meet you at Elaine's Dueling Piano Bar, or does bad singing frighten you?
