Wait. Gender reassignment, or starting a thread about it?

The thread, Polarchill.

Oh. Well, I don't approve.  Someone should go back and delete all the posts.  I find mine especially offensive. smile

I agree. We should all be ashamed of ourselves. Where's that moderator when he's needed?

Re: Gender reassignment.

Sorry polarchill I didn't mean to offend you it was just a slightly cheeky way of starting a thread thats all. I've felt at times that it would be better to be a woman rather than a man and I've discussed this subject many times in many different places and it has a familiarity for me that means I feel I can be a little flippant, but I'm sorry if I misjudged the feelings of other people on this. So I'd like to apologise to you, Your comments here on the subject are very welcome.

Oh, my regret and panic has caused a bit of blindness here, I've just seen the smiley in your post smile ha ha tho what I've just written is a fair assessment of where I'm at on this.

Re: Gender reassignment.

I suppose I support gender change's. If there is a biological necessity behind it. Either physical or mental.

But i think counseling needs to play a crucial part before any gender reassignment. Along with involvment with family, spiritual leaders, and dear friends. Both for emotional support, and postive reinforcement for\agianst.

I hate to see somebody live a "lie". But at the same time, I feel a person needs to have full mental capacity before making such a decision.

(Last week, a person tried to make himself a female via self inflicted castration. With that in mind. I think there needs to be moderation in any decision. And not the ever progressive mantra "what ever feels good". Or feels bad, in his case.)

I, too, haven't worked out my ideas. The whole notion of "gender fluidity" is so incredibly new to me. Actually it's not the notion, it's my willingness to acknowlege, explore or consider it that is brand new. I appreciate that I have this forum as a place to explore. Thanks.

i think it's totally the coolest that you're dealing with this now.  smashing the gender binary is super fun.  i commend you for stepping up to it.

Thank you Gala for the encouragement. It's very new territory for me.

Ha ha yeah a self inflicted castration is the cheapest way of doing things smile I agree I think you should deliberate a bit before you go for the kitchen knife smile

I think theres a certain emotional desperation to the decision to change gender and that is what triggers the motivation to actually even start to make enquiries about it.
I think the "what ever feels good" thing would apply in the science fiction scenario where you could change your appearance completely convincingly and then change back at will. So as thats not possible at the mo and given the current state of technology people who are so unhappy that they feel they must gender reassign must be treated with love and have their wishes respected (especially if their paying for the ops. smile ) but thats another issue about the self respect and independence your own money gives you isn't it smile

Re: Gender reassignment.

While I have no positive or negative opinion regarding the process as such, I must say I just love the term "gender reassignment". To me it's just the pinnacle of political correctness. I love it.
