This question has most probably been raised before, ( I can't find it in search) but who masturbates more, men or women, or is it equal. Reason I ask is that there appears to be more masturbation devices made for women, than there is made for men ! [ I could be wrong of course]

In my experience, it's about equal. It's kind of difficult to have an extensive line of products for men, when you think about it.
Just viewing the IFM clips gives you an example of the range of ways a woman can masturbate.
I'm not doctor or student of anatomy but I'm guessing women have a larger concentration of sensitive nerve endings that are capable of producing a sexual stimulus and eventually, an orgasm. And these clusters of nerve endings are spread over a wider area.
Again, relating to personal experience, when a woman is made to feel that masturbation is accepted and encouraged by her partner and it's not a threat to the relationship or the male's ego, they tend to masturbate more freely and openly.
A huge plus for the male who has a much slower recovery time and a much quicker orgasm. A sensitive male will use this to the mutual advantage of both partners.
That's just my opinions based on my own personal relationships and those don't number into the hundreds. Nowhere close.

I wonder if it's actually not that men masturbate more, but that their masturbation habits are more in everyone's faces. I know for example that I can get off at a slumber party all by myself without anyone ever knowing, but a boy would have to go to the bathroom for long enough or take a shower or something. Maybe chicks are getting off all the time, all over the place, and nooobody knoooooowsss....

I wouldn't think it would be equal.

I think men masturbate much more than women. I don't have the info to make a real informed decision. A significant segment of women won't disclose their masturbation habits. Of course, many women here may masturbate a great deal. I don't know!

I think women masturbate more than men, after growing up in a house full of sisters and aunts, as a young boy growing up, i think i caught about all of them masturbating one time or another. I would hear my sister masturbating all most every night when she thought i was asleep, As i got older i realized what she was doing.

I'd say it varies on a person to person basis. some men/women hardly ever masturbate and some men/women masturbate compulsively.

Short of clitoridectomy all the socialising on earth couldn't have kept my hands out of my panties when I was a tween and then a teen....

However, I have not seen any information that compares the men and women who are frequent masturbators in who does it more often.

I started masturbating when I was 3 years old... So i'd say i probably have masturbated more than alot of men but I am not a general rule (or so I hear).

I think a lot of people (Perhaps not here...) would be skeptical about the 3 year old start point but it's more common than people think, more so in females than males, or so I believe.
Our first sexual experience is the genital contact from bodily functions and the nerve endings are in place so it's a matter of adding 1+1. No pun but child's play.
One gal I dated started at 4 and was still going strong at 54. Being in a relationship or not. Made no difference. She was going to masturbate at least once a day if not more, regardless. She was mater-of-fact about her masturbation and was as normal and well adjusted as anyone I've ever know.
I still feel it's less of a stigma with females.
It should be taught in schools and perhaps is in some areas. Cut down on unwanted pregnancies and STD's among younger people. It's normal. It's a bodily function.
