Thank you, Richard. I really did not mean it to offend anyone, it is just a viseral reaction of mine that has nothing to do with logic or politics. I have great admiration for -all- the contributors to this fine site.

Castrated is simply the wrong word, an unfortunate choice of vocabulary in a situation where that kind of thing matters, and I think it's good that (especially) the men around here learn that their language has power and learns to think carefully about what they're saying. It was a mean comment, and thoughtless. It's good that Bobby isn't afraid to express how it makes her feel, most people find it difficult to do so. I know I do.

Much like jumping into ice water, I find pain exhilarating. And the longer you push past it, the deeper you get into sensory experiences you simply can't reach if you're held back by value statements.
