Imogen Heap!  Because it's frickin unbelievable what she's doing now (www.imogenheap.com).  Collaborating with the whole internets, kinda sharing her whole creative process with daily live video blogs and letting people contribute sounds and solos.  Supposedly she's going to be writing songs for 3 years this way, and what's beautiful is how much she is *loving* it, and how many candid moments of her just completely thrilled and giddy at some burst of inspiration she's made manifest.  And much of that is usually dropped & never heard by anyone but the artist, so these are the kinds of things that make up an artist's private bond with a song - seeing it grow from baby to incidental adult instance of limitless possibilities.  She's silly as hell too, it's very funny.  I bluddy love it.
