Lucubrations via webcam or skype ?

Do you think that having a lucubration via webcam or skype involving members would be a good idea ? Obviously only for those who, confidentiality was not an issue ! Just a passing thought.

Ha ha yeah this is something Richard has been pushing for for ages.

If I ran a site I would actually do this with perhaps 3 members and edit the best bits into a short promo doc. There are ex members who might probably do this, like perhaps Desert girl and I'd have a few quotes I liked from anonymous members like Bish or the great Ashmedi read out as a voiceover. A quote from a member was right up on the banner on the home page for a while.

My original thought was "site members", so as to give power to the people, as they say. Getting the members involved more, I thought would be more democratic and modern in thinking and would ultimately increase site membership. Nowadays increased communication for businesses and people increases brand loyalty. My thinking was that questions asked by contributers may not entirely reflect questions that may be asked by members.

Obviously I may be wrong in all the above.

The lucubrations on this site by the way are great, informative, sexy, entertaining and highly intelligent.

If you have questions for contributors, you're welcome to post in their appreciation thread, and if they are around and available and interested in answering, they will do so. IFM's forums are a great way to get involved. If there is lots of interest in a certain topic on an appreciation thread, and the contributor involved does a Lucubration, I will generally ask those questions during our chat.

I think someones sexual history is pretty inevitably gonna start with their 1st wank I find it interesting. Though if I did the interviews I'd find it very hard to stay focused. Once you start talking about slutwalks and weinergate and sex scandals and whatever else, there's no denying it would be enjoyable but you've date stamped the interview so you'd have to use it pretty quickly.

We try to avoid that kind of thing in Lucubrations, yes. Lucs are a chance for a contributor to express herself about porn and sexuality, reach an audience with any message she may have for the world, and give her IFM persona a personality and a voice. Most contributors have participated in Beautiful Agony as well - go ahead and watch their confessions to find out some of those details about their masturbatory habits.

Hang on for just a moment, no one has even really touched on whether contributors would even want to be involved with skype-chat interviews.

I for one sure as hell don't want to answer questions from someone I don't know, at all, about my masturbatory habits, sexuality or anything else to be quite honest. Especially streaming live over the internet.

I've had some proper grotty emails sent to me through this forum and in those instances it really, really threw me. This situation, by and large hasn't occured too often, but can you imagine the impact of live questioning if an email can be such a smack in the face?

Not all contributors feel comfortable with shooting Lucubrations with us, let alone what is being suggested here.

Just because someone shoots an IFM film here, it doesn't entitle ANYONE to question them at their whim. Us included. We respect that.

Have a sense of proportion. Most women that contribute to IFM are every day people just like you or I. I've done a load of mainstream porn in the past and I still don't have the thickest hide going around. Why should we expose our contributors to a situation where they may need one?

I am 100% opposed to any sort of live/skype chat, fullstop.

Hyperballad I agree and you have to be pretty extraordinary and brave to talk live about sex and your own sexuality, that's why I admire sexual activists like Betty Dodson and Carlin Ross, they actually did a question and answer session on a live porn channel! talking to gynosexuals who use the service. When I found the link unfortunately I missed it and the session was closed. I'm sure there are people who contribute to Feck who are sex professionals and/or activists who have all the skills to enjoy a live broadcast Skype chat, but it's not really part of what I think Feck aims to do, which is to provide a safe space and enjoyable experience for people who contribute.

Continuing the point I was making on the lunch/dinner thread just now, I think carstuff is probably not quite realising the key difference between the worlds of IFM and the latenight freeview channels where the girls are not only of a different type but also performing a very different function (ie to keep the premium rate calls coming in throughout the night).

Those girls are employees of the various TV stations and agencies involved, not just ordinary women who might be prepared to create a film or maybe a few films of their masturbatory experiences via the Feck websites. Even the likes of MET-ART seem to offer their girls for live chats and all that jazz, but IFM is different. I kind of like the idea that what we see has had some real thought and creation out into it, and what we are shown is only what the contributors are happy and comfortable for us to see.
