Today I heard a song by Leonard Cohen called Suzanne, I searched suzanne on I Feel Myself, both are beautifully fantastic, really nice, I think so anyway :-))

Yes she is

Go search on Youtube for Leonard Cohen, he does some beautiful stuff ...
He has a good sound, gravelly voice, sometimes sings with sisters which provides beautiful harmonies, and his lyrics are pure poetry ... Dance me till the end of time is one of my favs ... but there is no artist here by that name

Leonard Cohen is one of my best poets in a stack of books many times taller than me. In his books he also explores a fascinating sexuality, combined with the way the words just fall away from him, I recommend reading as well as listening.

Leonard Cohen is one of my favourite human-beings. My dad gave me a copy of the Energy of Slaves when I was in high school and it sparked this fierce love. My favourite lines in his songs are always the ones that catch on small details, like "Nancy wore green stockings/and she slept with everyone" and the "Sincerely L. Cohen" at the end of Famous Blue Raincoat. If you have a spare half hour or so, the Canadian Film Board recently rereleased a beautiful 60s documentary about Cohen before he really made it as a musician and when he was known more for his poetry. It is also a product of the time and includes great lines like "a lady journalist said..."

But firstly I must jump on this wagon. I like the big details also, "and when he knew for certain only drowning men could see him". So many beautiful word combinations spill out of that mans head!

Yes and "Have I carved enough my Lord?/Child, you are bone".

Pro-tip: there's a scene in that documentary that is so obviously staged and wonderfully gratuitous, where they get Cohen to jump out of bed wearing only his tighty-whities and look out the window of the shitty hotel he's staying in.

Also, a scene where he's reading to a university audience and, from memory, they only show the faces of female audience members absorbing every word.

Uh - I mean it's totally about the poetry and has absolutely nothing to do with Cohen being some kind of sex-god...
