I'm told on good authority that when you dream of excrement, you are or you're about to be in the shit - figureatively speaking.
That would satisfactorily explain the proliferation of faeces in my dreams: I do not dance through life on a bed of roses, rather on that which nourishes them .
By the way, I think the constant fighting against numerous opponents has to do with my rampant misanthropy: I constantly feel like I'm at war with the world, especially right now when disappointment, loss, misery and pointlessness have put on their best evening wear and are merrily dancing around me in a display of poor taste that makes me think that they were taught nothing about tact and manners as they were brought up. They really should be chastised by the proper authorities. The parents really can't do much in cases like these, you see, because they are probably as bad as their children.

The aborigine people of Australia talk about the "dream time" don't they. Now that is something I would REALLY like to know about. Meanwhile I am about to sling my hook from these halls of lust and learning and spend overdue time with things patiently awaiting my attention.

I use to dream of Tsunami's constantly as a kid. I would be climbing a cliff and a watching as a Tsunami came right for me. Sometimes I was in a helicopter and the Tsunami kept getting higher and higher. Once I was even in the school bus (which was bright yellow and had bessie the bus written on its side) riding the wave like a surfer, and Marge Simpson was on the bus with me and she was pregnate and all the tumbling was making her loose the baby.
I think my dreams were taking the piss out of me also!

This may sound wierd, but I used to have dreams making love to my mother. She died a while ago and since then the frequency of such dreams hasnt changed.
In reality nothing sexual ever happened between us. There is one more thing about those dreams; usually they would occur during early morning between 3-5 am. And I would often wake up with an erect tent. One a few occasions, although very infrequently, I would also wake up with a wet mess in my shorts.
I have never discussed this with anyone or even mentioned it to any one and it troubles me what to make of these dreams.
In real life, I am particularly attracted to older women (40s-70s).
The fact that you wake up with an erection after such a dream is purely co-incidence (sp? I've misplaced my dictionary). As men we have erections in out sleep all the time. It just happens.
To dream of a family member in such a way is a representation of support from that family member. What I mean by that is that your subcontious mind has equated the same feelings for love and it does for sex. It seems natural, you love the person you're having sex with, or it wouldnt be called making love. But since the feeling is your contious mind is that of plutonic (sp? sorry about that) love, you know this to be an intimacy between mother and child.
How can this change?
By allowing the subcontious mind to deferenciate between the different aspects of what love and lust are.
Hope this helped.
Well... there was nothing in my dark side that really interested me. I guess I just dont have what it takes to be a bad guy.

I'm not sure who elses wanted me to read their dreams, but if you do, just repost them in a quote and I'll see what I can do.
Too good of an opportunity to pass up. How've you been TWW?
Me, I've been having a recurring dream lately. I am walking down the street, sun is high in the sky, super casual, not a care in the world when all of a sudden I'm needed to help someone. Now this someone is always familiar to me but unrecognisable in that dreamscape kinda way. So I immediately steal a fast car and load my needy friend into it. I tear up the streets in this car, pushing it harder and faster than I ever would my own car. Even though we are not being chased. I'm acutely aware that no matter how fast I drive I will not die because it is a dream. At the point of that awareness the car slows down and no matter how hard I push on the accelerator it won't speed up. Then the gears jam, brakes fail and I lose control of the car. But it doesn't end there because we proceed on foot. To where I don't know. From what I have no idea. But the danger is imminent. I always wake before it is resolved.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I really enjoy the part when I'm driving fast but it never lasts long enough.

Thank you Sir! Now would you be so kind to interpret my other dream please (the one about all the men in the world dead and me taking care of all the women?) ? I am the last guy in the queue.

Busy Frankie, I've been very busy.
Recurring dreams are interesting things. If you saw the post I did for Elf, yours follows pretty much the same pattern. You have a decision or situation that you have put off for some time. The familiar stranger represents a fork in the road of the decision you must make. This figure is familiar to you (this decision has a positive outcome), yet a stranger (a wrong choice could lead to an undesireable outcome). By stealing a car and driving it fast in order to help this friend of yours, you are drawing out this situation. The car slows down because karma is catching up with you and you know it is time to make a decision.
I dont think the crash is a representation of a need for control, but more of a need for direction to make this decision easier.
You are looking for a guarentee, before you make your decision.
Hope this helped.

When I was a kid, I used to get regular dreams which went like this: All the men in the world died and I am left alone with all the beautiful women, wearing sleaveless blouses (yes sleaveless blouses). Although at that age, I didnt know what to do with all those women, but that didnt stop me from getting those dreams
The key here is sleaveless women. This is a deep down desire of men that goes way back to the early caveman days. What do I mean?
Simply this: Men love strong Women.
Be it physical or mental strength, it is a show of independence. They are expressing their independence through your dream by the removal of their sleaves. Remember how some cultures keep their women under wraps in order to control them?
Their bare arms are a show of strength and independence.
Now you are the only man left in the world, here are all these woman. I look at this and I see it as a want to just "let loose" with no competition and no need to impress, in your mind this is a place where a sure thing has meaning.
You need to party.
Hope this helped.

Liandra, for the purposes of this thread and the board's stance on Anonymity; I would like to provide an interpretation for your dream(s) in writing. If it is okay with you I would like to leave the finished interpretaions at the hostel that I will be staying at when I am in Melbourne in 10 days time.
Do you agree to this?

At the risk of being an utter wet blanket, I'm something of a skeptic when it comes to dream interpretation. When I said I thought my dream about falling buildings wasn't Freudian (building=penis), I said it for two reasons: first, because that's not the emotional vibe I get from it, and second because I don't believe in easy assignments of symbols within dreams.
It seems pretty clear that the mammal brain needs to dream in order to keep itself healthy, but we know very little about the actual process. It could be something like defragmenting a hard drive -- the process of defragmenting changes the organization of the data being stored, but the actual content of the data is irrelevant; it could be anything. Likewise, the objects and people we think we're dreaming about might be chosen at random from our memories. I'm sure we all know the phenomenon of dreaming about a person we know for certain to be so-and-so, except that they look nothing like the real so-and-so looks. Clearly there's a disconnect between their name and their appearance, which suggests to me that the data in our heads is being manipulated in non-rational and perhaps incomprehensible ways when we dream.
However, I DO believe that the *emotional* content of dreams is probably meaningful, because emotions aren't symbols or data. If you constantly dream of being killed or threatened or frustrated or embarrassed, that suggests to me that those emotions aren't being dealt with in waking life and they're spilling over into sleep and appear in the form of dreams. My hypothesis -- which is worth what you're paying for it -- is that the rational, sense-making part of our minds tries to provide a "narrative" for the emotions by conjoining them with the other raw data floating around.
In short, I'm reluctant to say that because I dream of fish, I think or feel X about fish or that fish stand for something else. But if I have a dream in which I *fear* fish, well then I think the fear is real but I'm not certain that fish really have anything to do with it.
None of this is meant as a put-down to Richad, West Wind, or anyone else. Just that I encourage skepticism, especially where something appears to offer an easy answer to a poorly-understood process.

I thank you sincerely, West Wind, but the truth of the matter is that my dreams are so vicious, unwholesome and disgusting, not to mention extremely violent, that any rendering of them here would in all likelihood cause the entire site to collapse, possibly taking large portions of the Internet with it, and we don't want that, do we?
And by the way, West Wind: Liandra is back (And there was great rejoicing!), so perhaps you should have a look at your signature .

Thank you. Interesting interpretation. At the point of awareness if I choose to stop the car and get out rather than lose control will it effect my waking life do you think?

Hey Frankie! It sounds like you're getting close to lucid dreaming, but then when you realise it you relinquish conscious control of the dream before you really grasp it.
Thanks for the interpretation. I lucid dream all the time. First started when I was about 8, I used to drag my mother into my dreams and try to convince her she was in my dream. I would be so excited to tell her that I knew I was dreaming and that I could control it. She of course would look at me in that bemused way that a mother looks at a child with an active imagination.
I am no dream interpreter but I'll take a stab that perhaps you feel you need to be in control,....
Hmm, there's that control thing again that you've alerted me to before. I definitely like to be in control. I like to capture, I don't like to be captured....so to speak You seem to have a fascination with control yourself, perhaps?

I've read the post below again today and even tho I was having a bit of fun, it's not really dreadful but it looks a tiny bit arrogant and rude, so sorry, I added a just kidding to one bit so I should be in the clear ha ha. It also looks a little cryptic too, so apart from anyone analysing my dreams, I think I need someone to analyse my waking moments as well
