Hirsuitism - the excessive hairyness of humans
Hirsuite - to be covered in hair
I guess I fall into this category compaired to most of the shaven population!
I wanted to write a little post to explain why I don't shave any of my body parts. I never did like shaving, it always seemed like a chore, something I had to do, to please others, so as not to offend others I guess. Is a bit of hair really that offensive? I dont think so.
A couple of years ago I got brave whilst doing some travelling and just let it all go, legs underarm, pussy all left uncultivated to grow wild. At first I was a little nervous showing my underarm hair in public, as you can image, as its really not what our culture is used to. I wondered how people would react. My experience has been that nobody says anything! I became so comfortable with it and actually fell in love with my hair, I have a real love for it and feel totally whole.
I no longer treat my body hair like a disease to be gotten rid of, I have embraced myself as I am naturally, and it feels good. Its exhilarating and I have never felt more comfortable in my body.

I agree that a persons body "adornment" s/b one of personal choice as is the viewing of one so "adorned". I took a minute and viewed your website and noted a pic of yourself labeled "Amateur". Now, with a site for which you solicit and charge a membership fee, do you still consider yourself as such and what's the difference between "am" and "pro"?
(Interesting site, b-t-w)

Hi Angelina, well as your contributions are among the sexiest on IFM, I don't think you need to worry about anything! I'm not sure where this obsession with shaving off our body hair to such extremes actually came from; it seems to have gathered pace in the last decade. Now, a shaven female body can look sexy too, the beauty of the curves and the folds of labia and vulva remain beautiful, but body hair is our natural state and as long as it isn't uncomfortable or a hinderance to the person (I'm constantly torn between a desire to shave all mine off due to physical discomfort but resist as I don't really the like the look on me! haha), I don't see a problem either way.

In answer to this, as you know the world likes to give labels to everything, and I really wanted to caputure the hearts of those who like homemade porn. you have really just inspired me to change the label to 'Homemade'.

I read somewhere (can't remember where) shaving it all started in the late 60's. Something to do with hardcore porn and directors wanted it to be edgier and more in your face.

Watching a movie on TV last night, I realised that in evey single nude scene I've ever seen, porn excluded obviously, the woman has pubic hair. Since the general population is maybe 50/50, why are cinema and porn so accutely biased in each direction?

Interesting question, Richard!
I can only say that growing up, I was only ever aware of (grown) women with pubic hair; this was the mid-70s. I think most of the Playboy-type publications were very much pro-bush (as it were!), and mainstream films from the era also seem to have ladies avec jardin.
One can only assume that porn wanted no visual obstructions to the "action", as shara_c mentioned!

Yeah that's why I thought it was weird and I was shocked when I read that it started in the 60's.

I'm thinking of submitting a photoset to BellaVendetta.com just to see what sort of reaction I get.
Actually, that's a lie, I want to submit there anyways, I happen to have natural body hair and I'm curious as to what the reaction will be. I don't think I'd get knocked back because of it, so I should really make it onto the site.
I spent a bit of time on there over the weekend and none of the models have more than a perfunctionary landing strip, from what I could see.
I think it would be really interesting to see what happens if a natural hair photoset went live, everyone would be so used to bare pits, legs and genitals... who knows?
(And yes, I'm prepared for a negative response, although I'm hopeful this won't be the case.)

Angelina, as I am kind of new to this furry-and-proud-of-it category, I'd like to tell you that you, in addition to certain other beauties I've had the privilege of meeting here at Feck, are a total inspiration. I was never very concious of keeping my body hair %100 gone, especially since I was always on the move, but I certainly kept my pits shaved and tried to make sure my legs were hair- free as well, especially when I wanted to look 'pretty'.
My aversion to shaving started as soon as I first picked up the razor, but I continued doing it because when I was younger, compounding my already low self-esteem with such a bold form of anti-comformity would have been a disaster. So I kept shaving and hating it. Later I moved on to waxing, but the cost of it was prohibitive and I felt myself always having to trust frighteningly abrupt and/or inexperienced waxing parlor employees as I traveled.
For example...
In Paris, I was humiliated by a bitchy young woman who charged me extra because I was "so hairy, - ugh" and made a running commentary of my flaws as she flipped me over and delved into my ass crack. She knew I understood her French. In Peru, trying to get a full bikini wax to surprise my boyfriend, I had to literally teach two bewildered and extremely embarassed girls how to wax my pussy. In Israel, I got a lecture on why I smelled "so bad" - it was because I didn't take proper care of my body hair. Actually I had just showered before my wax - it was pure association that caused this girl to smell whatever she smelled.
I paid for all these experiences.
Fed up with all the nonsense, you can imagine my excitement when I first did iShotMyself and upon offering to shave was told NO DONT WE LOVE IT GREAT. Step by step I discovered how much I love it too and have (almost) ceased being afraid what people will think. Since learning to love my own hair, when I see other women with body hair I find it arousing. Mmm.
My last frontier of bravery will be visiting my family in Los Angeles without giving in to that temptation to conform. LA especially is a place of great body-image fear for me, as even my extremely beloved relatives are fond of buying me deodorant and telling me I'm a dirty hippy. In LA, if you don't smell like sanitized flower petals, or something advertised in a commercial, you stink. Likewise if I were to go out dancing and raise my fuzzy underarms over my head, people would surely start doing their best to ostracise and make me feel uncomfortable. or maybe theyd all get on their knees and start begging for it - I don't know, since I haven't tried.
Sometimes I find myself still conforming mentally to the no-hair status quo, or maybe it's that certain things truly are sexier to me hair-free. There's something unattractive about sexy high heels and hairy legs, for instance. A specific example that comes to me is Selma Hayeck in From Dusk Til Dawn, shoving her toes into Tarentino's mouth and spilling tequila down her leg for him to suck on. An extremely hot scene that might not have looked so nice with a hairy leg.
Angelina (and anyone else who'd like to respond), I'm curious how you feel about that. You specifically have made a role model of yourself advocating the sexiness of hair, but are there times you wish you could be hairless for a moment? How long has it been since youve had hairless legs etc?

I shaved my pits for a pole competition a while ago, as I thought it was out of line with the aesthetic of my hair-do/costume/makeup.
I cried once my pits were bare. I felt exposed in a very uncomfortable way. I didn't feel 'me'.
I sincerely regret it and there are few things I ever regret.
It made my boyfriend a bit sad too. We both really like our body fuzz.
For this point in my life having natural body hair is what makes me feel good, it's a big part of me feeling feminine and sexy... I don't think I understood just how much until I took it away.
I'm *still* regrowing my pits, my body hair is lame at growing back, so it's going to take a while and it's pretty much a constant reminder of a bad decision.
I also get BO now, which sucks balls.
However, a change is as good as a holiday and with something like body hair it's never going to be permanent. Unless you IPL, but that's a story for another day.

Hyperballad, you know I would dearly love to see a woman in a strip club with natural body hair on her cunt and underarms. I hope next competition you dare to hair *grin* I suppose it wouldn't fit in with an expected aesthetic but that would only be because it deviates from the norm not because it wouldn't look sexy. I remember when I shaved my head back in 2006 I thought wearing dresses didn't fit with it...because that aesthetic was unfamiliar to me...but it actually works when we shirk off our discomfort with breaking expectations, our own and others. To see a woman pole dancing and not conforming to an expected aesthetic would be far more sexy to me at least. Glad your growing back the fur.
Viva I had totally the same experience as you when I first saw ISM...it totally helped me to improve my sense of ownership over my body and pride in being as nature intended. free the fur!

Hi Angelina_Dee, I wanted to comment on your not shaving. I love the fact you don't! You are so beautiful and you hair accents that! After i saw your videos, focal point 1 & 2, I fell in love with you. I wish that more women would be the way you are. I would also like to see more of you on IFM. My hats off to all natural women like yourself! Like Liandra said....Free the fur!

Wait? What? Richard, you can watch TV movies with full frontal nudity?? I don't think we do that in Canada. Well, maybe in Quebec. I just hope that wasn't on a documentary about lighthouse keepers or steam trains.
Viva, I soooo want to join your furry-and-proud-of-it semi club type thing. I had no idea I wanted membership until about half way though this post and this related one on ISM. Viva, Angelina_Dee, and Hyperballad, your stories could be lifted from the pages of my own diary - assuming I had one and excepting the bit about pole dancing.
My big "ahah" moment came when I sent in a sample video for IFM and got the good ol' I see you have underarm hair we (quote) "love underarm hair". I was like huh, (a) how can you even see that in the grainy webcam video and (b) hum, I guess I haven't remembered to shave in a while...innteeeresting.
Anyways, long story long. Hair is nice. Still a bit stressful to go underarm furry in the summer, but it photographs amazingly as evidenced by Gala in 058 of Ocorposutil. All the evidence on IFM leads me to believe that filmed masturbation is in fact better with a little body hair. It adds eye catching texture and contrast to places that otherwise are just skin. We have a lot of skin.

I just discovered your post. Angelina (late, but still in the time window of my membership) , your message not to shave any part is one of the best I've ever heared. You not only look extreme sexy but you look so stunning classic. I'm sure once, when all porn consuming men are tired of the gonzo plasic crap, then hair will return in a big way, and that's what I'm waiting for. Don't shave, you are so natuaral beautiful as it cann get. And do more conts for IFM!

Ive been performing on stage recently with hairy pits and it is liberating to throw your hands above your head and show women that it's up to them whether they shave or not. In fact, it's gotten to the stage for me that when I go to public places like swimming pools, beaches where a fair amount of exposure occurs, it's the shaven women who stand out.
I wear high heels and dresses with hairy legs, and generally I feel pretty good about it, unless my legs are heaps bruised from my bike pedals though, somehow I prefer the aesthetic of one or the other, bruised legs, or hairy, not both.

As a guy, I've always felt that women's pubic hair was about the sexiest thing in the world. Part of the thrill of seeing her panties come off for the first time is seeing what she looks like "down there." So, while I actually do find it a turn-on to think of (or see) a woman shaving her pussy, I am grateful for all of you who don't. Please don't think you need to.

I'm kind of interested in that turn on - shaving, I mean. Are you turned on by any visuals of pussy shaving? Or just the times when it looks nice - ie, all the elements are there like hot water, new razor, soft skin, no bumps, no bleeds, no rashes etc etc. Because to me, pussy shaving is about as sexy as pickles.
But if you're into that, I can think of a few vids off the top of my head that women made for Ishotmyself.com that would totally float your boat!

The act of shaving is to me as you describe Viva. If you want the excitement of revealing what lies hidden, peeling off panties is much more to my liking.
As for pussy hair, well it works but if it's not there, well, that's okay as well and judging by the last 30 contributors (not vids) slick is in. But I would be heartbroken if someone like jane_e, for one, were to mow the front lawn.
Arm pit hair is great. Leg hair....umm? Smooth legs on a gal really emphasize the shape of their legs, which are far more pleasingly curved than a male's. A great many vids on IFM follow those curves or are shot up the leg and well, that's pretty hot to me.
I'm not hung up on how someone chooses to present themselves, which bits are or are not shaven.
I focus on the entire presentation. I wonder how many folks read the wonderfully written, "About" page? That is so great! And it sums up why I choose to be a member here. That page touches on all of the things that make the site unique. We have what, 5, 6 IFM contributors on this topic alone?
Lot of insight, bit of humor and none of the blithering filth you'll read in the comments of an article on a news feed.

As I said, I by no means prefer the result -- a smooth pussy -- to a hairy one and I imagine that the process itself is not terribly fun or erotic. I suppose I just enjoy seeing women tend to their pussies, not unrealted to seeing them playing with them. As to whether I'd like any visual, I guess I don't know. I have seen a few on ISM. But I certainly wouldn't want any woman to go through it for my sake.
