Wow! Aliens really have been visiting earth

The alien disclosure project announcement looks pretty believable to me. It's basically 150 ex nuclear command officers telling the world they observed unexplained intervention with their launch systems. This happened in the USA and Russia, below is the CNN report and the Russian TV report.

Victims of child abuse were told they were nuts for a long time. Until a tipping point happened around 25 years ago. Would be nice if something similar happens with this issue. If other intelligent life has been targeting nuclear installations and observing us for a long time, that would be fascinating.

If we discover even the tiniest life on other planets we've decided to just observe and study it as non intrusively as possible. If we found it was about to innihilate itself I think if we could, we'd intervene or risk losing the subject of our study.

At the moment the explanations for UFO's are limited by our imagination (Aliens, Angels, messages from god)

So just as we now know the earth wasn't made in 7 days but 4.5 billion years, I think the explanations for UFOs will range from the mundane (ball lightning and space debris) to the amazing, like why would life evolve and inhabit every microscopic corner of earth, yet not inhabit all dimensions in a multi dimensional multi universe, a multi dimensional multi universe the earth is part of.

Erm, I don't really think likening this to child abuse victims is particularly appropriate or relevant...

There's a bit of a difference in believing in aliens and being physically or sexually abused as a child and not only being unable to get help but also getting labelled insane.

I'm not likening them, only observing both were instantly disbelieved for decades until one group reached a tipping point after which their accounts were held as credible. It's the critical mass of reporting that proved the case for child abuse.

People who've had an anomalous experience and believe they've had an alien contact/seen angels have their own set of concerns. Mainly the damage to their career. If a google search produces your account of an alien contact/ siting that may as well be on your resume. and if that was a claimed abduction OMG! But what if something like that did happen to you. You just wouldn't go public.

But if your job is to guard military installations you have to report every anomaly, that's why so many of the most public reports are by defence personnel and good reason to suspect those reports are the tip of the iceberg. A critical mass of reporting would open the floodgates and provide a lot more information to clarify the subject or even possibly prove the case.

I do believe that^ is likening them.

Without going into my own, or others I know, personal experiences, I find this comparison irrelevent and offensive.

I have tried to state this as diplomatically as possible in my previous comment and I don't think I am being unreasonable here.

Seeing UFO's is nothing even close to being abused as a kid and you're using a very very sensitive and inapropriate topic to try to legitimise something that, as yet, most definitely hasn't been proved.

I'm very disappointed that someone thinks I would want to do that. That would be really awful and I really am sorry if my post gave you that impression. I'm excited by UFO's but I'm open minded about them, I wasn't trying to be persuasive. I was comparing one specific aspect which is the social mechanism by which people go from being dismissed to being considered. My point was about that single correlation. But the way I wrote it doesn't explain that properly and is open to other interpretations, so I really am sorry if I've done something that's offended you.

It's okay, all I was trying to do is point out that you should perhaps use another situation to compare to in this instance.

I am personally rather sceptical about UFO's, alien abductions and sightings... I think we can, as humans, have very powerful lucid dreams/day dreams and when you're passionate about something or truly believe in it, it can lead to a feeling like you have had the experience that your mind has represented.

I feel the same way about people who claim to have had visions from god etc.

We also like to use god and more so these days. the paranormal to explain things we don't yet fully understand.

Although if I'm wrong about this, I'm sure our alien overlords will punish me severely for my lack of faith. Wait, that sounds really familiar...

Thanks for replying, that's a relief. Very occasionally something happens online that still casts a shadow over your mind when your offline, and for me this has been one of them. Your right of course. Thanks for the lesson in victim awareness.

Without making any presumptions about what they saw I tend to beleive that the servicemen saw something weird a long time ago and that's fascinating. But there's a characteristic I've noticed within the whole contemperary UFO debate.
Dspite several billion people having a phone and sending very clear pictures and video immediately from any disaster or postimg the tiniest happening from every nook and cranny of the earth on youtube, the pics of alien craft, ghosts, bigfoot and the lochness monster are all still out of focus, blurry vague or too dark so you can't really make out WTF it is.
