Hi everyone,
Does anyone else play computer games and, if so, what's your favourite?
For me, it has to be either Fallout 3 (awesome game), Oblivion (that moment when you first leave that pipe at the beginning - superb!), the Half-Life games and all the puzzle adventures about Monkey Island.
Personally speaking - I used to be a huge fan of World of Warcraft and have played since 2005, but, in my view - the game has now reached a tipping point where meeting unpleasant people is the norm, and as a healer, you tend to get the worst of it directed at you. Bit of a shame really.
So what d'ya reckon - what's your favourite game?
John.

Deuteros, Stars! and SMAC. I'm not sure which one I have the fondest memories of. Yeah, I'm a sci-fi geek.
As a nod to IF, I'll add Slouching towards Bedlam to the list. There are many nice ones but this one is particularily memorable I think.

Heroes of Might and Magic? Oh my God I used to love that game! My brother and I played it all the time... tried to play a more recent installation last year and it was awesome but I had forgotten how long a single game takes! Gaaah! Just don't have the time that I did when I was a kid.
And on the subject of board games, Hyperballad, has anyone played Settlers of Catan? I played it recently with some friends... so much fun!

Chess. 10 levels and I do well in 3 and fair in 5. I play better against a real opponent but I enjoy the computer version.
Boring, right?

Don't like computer games, (it's an age thing) but used to like and play Monopoly and Cluedo.
Don't try to change others, change yourself :-))

Many years ago. One of my shipmates was of Japanese heritage and he started to teach me. If I recall correctly, Go is one of the most widely played games in the world and like chess, easy to learn but difficult to master.
During my army career the board games Stratego and Risk were popular and of course the poker games.
I should have mentioned I'm kind of addicted to Hidden Object Games. Some are quite long, require a lot of sideways thinking and memory skill. Many have killer graphics and good story lines. It's hit and miss as many are childishly simple but most have a free trial version so you can choose the type that suits your individual taste. Good cognitive function stuff.
I enjoy complex puzzles. The kind that require the heuristic approach.

Dammit, those are mine! LOL, seriously though, my favorites are the Vampire series (Ya probably have the mod..) Gothic 1-3 (I refuse to buy Gothic 4) Risen, The Witcher series, FO 1-NV and you cannot ever forget the master of them all...UW I-II (Ultima Underworld) I also love any old RPG with the 4-way directional dungeon crawls of yore!

A good geek conversation!
I would say Red Dead Redemption.

Favorite game of all time: Civilization (1, 2, or 3).
I also love to play Mario Kart (Gamecube or Wii) with my friends, or Timesplitters 2 (Gamecube).

Did anyone ever play Space Quest? I really want to find copies of all of them.

This dates me, but I loved Riven, and its successors (except Uru).
