much worse today, this might be it.

went to specialist and sihned a form for
the dye job pics at ivey (fast tracjed again)
that happens wed jul 12th
slot for laser has been reserved for jul 20 if
he thinks it will do anything
asked about paying for it, thats never happened
now i sit and wait
5 days so far, no sleep, worse every day.
this is extremely hard to see.
later maybe, don't know what tomorrow will vring

He hasn't got text to speech yet and almost certainly can't read this.

I am typing on a new keyboard for the visually impaired. It has big black letters on white and is color coded for the special keys like Ctrl Alt etc.

So while my typing may be better, I can't see the screen as well today and the text I am typing is hard to read.
My wife also picked up a trial version of Zoomtext which I will try to find someone to install tomorrow.

Keyboard is easier to see, or guess at. I think the number of typos has decreased, only you, the readers, will be able to attest to that.

Since I'm having so much trouble reading today, I hope the software helps. And I hope it is easy to use so that it doesn't frustrate me more than help me.
Hopefully it will be installed tomorrow so it may be tomorrow afternoon before I can advise.

Installed Zoomtext 9.0 and it seems to help the display however I am not sure how long this will work at the speed the vision is going.
This software also has speech included so I can hear the info I am typing as well as the info under the mouse as I move around the desktop. I am not sure waht the total cost is. It is weird to listen to each word as it is typed.

There are 5 different types of synthesized voices and each one offers 3 to 10 different people. I have selected the most sexy, her name is Mary.

Some of the voices are just plain strange and hard to understand.
The voices can be altered for quickness of speech as well as tonal variances. The sample box is too short to get a good reading so it is trial and error.
My distortion is causing problems reading as letters disappear.
If I have typed something, I hear the words one by one as entered, but if I put the cursor on a line, it speaks the whole line back.
I can also make it read a post if I quote the post and then put the cursor on the text in the quote. It reads that back all at once as opposed to line by line.

She is very impersonal and does not put much tonal variation in at all. She ignores the smileys, but when she read your post after the laste word you said she adds "dot left square bracket slash quote etc". The voice adds commentary to each web page by reading the blue title bar and in some cases this is aggravating. Pronunciation is also funny as asterisk is pronounced as 'astroysk'I would sooner hear 'star'

That speech software you have sounds like Speakonia.

You can get it free off the net, choose the voices, set the speed and other things. I think it would be helpful to you, Asmedi. All you need to do is cut and paste the passage you want and press play.

The downside is that the voice sounds very robotic.

It's spyware safe. It's used by animators when they want to make a character sound like a robot. But all in all it's an easy to use program.

Give it a look over, if you still feel a bit wary I'll email you a copy of mine.

Thanks. I went to the site and checked it out.
They say it's not their product, but is actually
a Microsoft application. I haven't downloaded
it yet, but I will as a supplement to Zoomtext.
If it works as well as it appears, I may be able to get by
with the cheaper version of Zoomtext.

That will depend on just how much longer I have
and if I get the Visudyne treatment, and it helps.

I appreciate greatly all the ideas and support
you guys and girls are supplying.

Hi Max, how are you?

Due to power outages daily and other
things related to virus and Windows updates
my system has been re-booting daily.
I guess the Zoomtext software will not retain
any of the changes I make until I actually spend
the money (it's very pricey) to buy it, and it
resets to the default settings. I got tired of
reconfiguring and am now just listening to
Neo-English Paul which is the default.
He is not as pleasing as a female voice, but he is
easier to understand.

Day 5 is now past and some optomistic signs have been
noted. Text appears slightly easier to read, and according
to my benchmarks, one type or instance of measurable
distortion is abating I think. Will watch closely as I monitor
my condition.

Morning Burlesque

With some difficulty.
Left eye has a dead spot so have
to use peripheral vision or upper portion
disappears. right eye sees very dark
and blurry so details are lost, both eyes
makes brighter but overlays cause more blur.
And if the vid is filmed in dim conditions it
is basically a nogo in all scenarios.
Audio accompaniment is almost mandatory.

And how are you doing these days ???
