It really puzzles me, and it makes me worried and truly sad that people all over are so insecure about their own bodies that they have to change it. (Especially when what they believe is so far from the truth, and what other people see and belive)
(With truth, I mean young girls thinking they are fat when they are so far from it that they really need to eat more.)
I know that a lot of these things are because of media pressing gamourified images of people on everyone to make them feel ugly or inadequate so they will try to buy products or undergo surgery to become more like these depictions of "perfect beauty" when, I think, most people would like them better if they stayed the way they were..
I often fear that women, esp. those involved in any sort of sex work or adult entertainment, feel pressured by men to get enhanced... if not directly by specific men, then by the general perception that men want big tits, and that women in the adult industry with big tits make more money.
I would never criticize anyone for getting enhanced -- it's your body, and you should do with it whatever makes you happy -- but I do go out of my way to compliment dancers and other adult performers specifically on their natural breasts (esp. if they're a bit on the small side, and I fear they may be getting pressure from customers or bosses to get bigger), just so they'll know that not every guy is looking for a pair of giant, perfectly hemispherical sofa cushions.
The funny thing is, though I definitely have a "type" that I prefer (petite and natural, when it comes to breasts), I find that matching my theoretical "type" is usually way down the list of reasons I find someone sexy. Personality, intelligence, and attitude matter a whole lot more than any dimensional analysis.
Making people aware that there are many varieties of beauty and the way they look and are is included in someone else's definition of hotness is as we know a bit of a mission.
I think like you I hold personal appearance choices as a persons sovereign mind space that I have to convince, ultimately if they think a modification will make them look more attractive or make them more money and they feel good about it, that shouldn't make all the people that share the appearance they've changed from feel bad. In fact it just means one less competitor :)
