Tell me about you!

Howdy folks, I'm currently waiting for things to render, I can't turn on my email computer because I'm waiting for an anti-virus programme for it... Oh I am ever so bored and lonely!

Sooo... I'm going to pose a series of random questions to you all. They'll probably be pretty dumb questions because I'm going to find them in my brain which is all mushy from a week of insomnia. Anyway, here goes something!

1. When you were small, what did you want to be when you "grew up"?
2. Where's your dream destination?
3. Do you have enough spare time? If so, what do you like to do with that time?
4. What makes you happy and do you have this thing in your life?
5. Is there something stupid which never fails to make you laugh?
6. What is the last dream you had that you can remember?

Sorry if these are boring... y'all can pose your own questions if you like!

Ok now to do this myself!

1. A vet or a zoo keeper. I've always loved animals and always had many pets until moving to the city. At times in my life, my pets were pretty much my only friends.

2. Mexico for the art and culture. Fiji for family.

3. Starting this week, I've gone part time at work, with Thursdays and Fridays off. I intend to use this time to get absorbed in my art in ways I've not had the chance to for awhile. I'm painting mermaids so if anyone knows any good mermaid books, movies, etc... please let me know, I need inspiration!

4. Sunshine, music, books, creative people, cake, gardens, sea smoothed glass, my art when it's not making me want to top myself.

5. My boyfriend's favourite noise which is something like this: "A CRUNK A CRUNK A CHUNK" and is accompanied by arm swinging motions.

6. I've been dreaming about my home in New Zealand a lot lately. I think I'm homesick.

Re: Tell me about you!

I do not ever want you to be bored and lonely, Ngaio, and so while I hate questionnaires on the intersquares (except this one, but you ask all the questions yourself: http://25thingsaboutmysexuality.blogspot.com/), I will make some answers.  Hopefully they are fluffy enough to cuddle at night.  Incidentally, I am reading a book at the moment called 'The Philosophy of Boredom', you should reserve it at the library so you can have it when I'm done with it!

1. When you were small, what did you want to be when you "grew up"?
In my fifth-grade yearbook I said that I wanted to be one of the following: an astronaut, an artist, a writer, the first female President, a scientist, and a whole bunch of other high-status occupations.

2. Where's your dream destination?
My house.  Even better if it was in Marin County or northern NSW.

3. Do you have enough spare time? If so, what do you like to do with that time?
I didn't, but I do now cos I don't work as much and it's the greatest thing ever.  Since I stopped working so much I have been trying to learn some hacker things, making blogs, and I'm in the middle of refinishing a timber table, which I decided to do yesterday at 4 pm and turns out to be one of the most pleasing things ever.

4. What makes you happy and do you have this thing in your life?
Sex & food.  Yes & yes.  And I'm about to get myself a naturopath, which should round things out.

5. Is there something stupid which never fails to make you laugh?
Well, Adele's mum always makes me laugh, but she's not stupid.  Other than that, this is ridiculously stupid and made me laugh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbRGOyv5fAo

6. What is the last dream you had that you can remember?
Oh, sweet fucking christ.  A group suicide taking place in my house, being led by a friend of mine.  Someone hanging themselves in my front doorway.  The whole group preserving themselves with a substance that could only be administered through fucking.  I plan to discuss this with the naturopath.  This is pretty much the calibre of my dreams.

Et toi?

Re: Tell me about you!

Awww thanks Gala! And I shall look into this book.

So what's the appeal of Nothern NSW? And speaking of refinishing stuff... I had a partner whose mother did such things in the most gloriously kitschy ways. She gave me a dressing table covered in iris flower print napkins. I loved it so hard.

As for your dream... that's fascinating! So elaborate! Do you keep a dream diary? It sounds like you bloody well should!

Re: Tell me about you!

Northern NSW is the only spot on the earth that I've touched with my feet that things feel correct, healthy, balanced.  That particular geography has some very magical qualities, and I know that lots of other people think so.  I'd love to end up there someday.  Not right now though.

I don't record my dreams, mostly because they're full of vile and terrible things that I'd rather not revisit.  People keep telling me I should, though, and they are probably correct.  I feel that my dreams are something I actually need to work to correct, as it seems to me that my mind is processing through a lot of bad energy in those situations, and the fact that I've got that stuff in me is a concern.  I do not recall any good dreams I've had in recent years.  That doesn't mean I don't have them, but I'm inclined to think that the bad outweighs the good.  It's very, very messy in there.

Re: Tell me about you!

Since you're bored, why the hell not.  These kinds of things are fun.

1. When you were small, what did you want to be when you "grew up"?

There was a period when I desperately wanted to be a superhero.  I had a series of powers I wanted and I craved them.  I don't remember what my superhero name would've been...but I'm sure I have pictures and a list of powers somewhere at my parents' house.

Thankfully, for a much longer period I wanted to write fiction.  And wham! --here I am, studying the stuff.  Awesome!

2. Where's your dream destination?

When I was in high school, I took a two week tour of Europe, going all over the place.  It was gorgeous...going back to do a similar but much more lengthy tour would be pretty rad.

3. Do you have enough spare time? If so, what do you like to do with that time?

Since I'm responding to this, it's clear that I'm very poor at managing my time and keeping my priorities straight.  I like making music, hiking, being outdoors, watching movies...

4. What makes you happy and do you have this thing in your life?

Visiting beautiful places seems to give me the greatest temporary happiness and overall makes me damn glad to be alive.  It keeps me going.  I don't have enough of this in my life, but I live in a beautiful area and am never that far away from something that will make me giddy.

5. Is there something stupid which never fails to make you laugh?

Stupid things are what most make me laugh.  I have a brother who's much younger than me, and my humor developed with his, which means that I'm kind of an idiot sometimes...

6. What is the last dream you had that you can remember?

It's been a while since I've had a dream I can remember...if I think of one, maybe I'll come back to this thread.

Re: Tell me about you!

Gala, I hear you. I've felt that way about certain, beautiful, isolated parts of New Zealand. I would probably be there now if it weren't for the lack of people and my current need for them!

As for your dream stuff, that sounds incredibly intense. Whenever I've had a bad dream, I find it really sets my mood for the day. I sincerely hope this is not the case for you.

Moldenke, a superhero! How awesome! I used to give myself a superhero character of sorts... well, a ghost. But a ghost who was the most powerful being in the universe. My name was Rainbowghost and I could do anything, my sidekicks were my little brother, Blackghost (the second most powerful being in the universe!) and Wondercat who was basically a soft toy with a cape and a song.

Héhe. My 5th grade middle school teacher always said there are no dumb questions, only dumb answers... So while I'm waiting for the pet shop to open up so I can get food for my snakes, I'm gonna try and make it my dumbest smile

1. Can't quite remember when I stopped being "small", I thought I still was... I had the straight-up boy-fantasy of wanting to be a fighter pilot. Thank you Top Gun. My poor eyesight screwed me over, but the interest in the tech stuff remained. Now I'm an industrial electrician and I get to work on such large and complex machinery that they still manage to make me drool after all this time. Yes I'm a nerd.

2. Scotland. But since I'm heading there in two weeks, I'm gonna have to find a new one.

3. Right now, yes (vacation tongue) but usually not so much. I usually fill the hours with drawing, painting, fishing, watching movies, reading, occasionally playing videogames, IFM, tending to my two wonderful pets, masturbating and chasing after the pretty girls.

4. The company of my family and friends, whom I love all so much...

5. That'll be my roommate...

6. Another I-miss-my-dead-father-nightmare. A while since I had one of those, though.

Re: Tell me about you!

1. When you were small, what did you want to be when you "grew up"?
Artist, musician, architect, developer, film maker, fashion designer, all at the same time :) as I haven't really grown up yet tho all those things are still a real possibility if I do.

2. Where's your dream destination?
Anywhere in space where I can look back at the whole earth, fantastic!

3. Do you have enough spare time? If so, what do you like to do with that time? I get fads, Skype is the latest, no matter where someone is in the world it's like popping in for a coffee, only you've gotta make it yourself.  I haven't had a TV since 2002 and online something fascinates or moves me everyday.

4. What makes you happy and do you have this thing in your life?
Friends, Cycling, lovely warm days and climbing in my tree. and my art takes me from ecstasy to despair and occasionally back again too but I love it when it works.

5. Is there something stupid which never fails to make you laugh?
If by stupid you mean silly yeah there's more than one thing everyday. I do laugh at other peoples stupidity and kind of identify because I have plenty of screw ups myself. I like this from yesterday and it's not even a person it's a dog. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07UwDJw0 … r_embedded

6. What is the last dream you had that you can remember?
Last night I dreamt I was on a train from England to Melbourne only what was suppose to be melbourne was the bottom of a narrow steep winding hill near me that the train had come down even though it's a road, still there were lots of Australians on the train and when I arrived at "Melbourne"  the trainplane company or whatever had lost my luggage.

Wow, this place is starting to turn into Facebook! wink

OK, here goes...

1. An astronaut. I grew up in the height of the space age and my father was a NASA engineer... I can't remember a time (including now!) that I didn't want to travel in space.

2. I suppose "IFM HQ" would be too cheesy an answer? wink My real dream destination is implied by my answer to #1, but assuming you mean on Earth, I'd have to say I'd love to go back to Korea and revisit the places we went when we lived there.

3. There's never enough spare time. I know people who say they'll never retire, because they wouldn't know what to do with themselves. That will never be my problem: I easily have a 100-year backlog of books to read and places to go and movies to watch and models to build (model rockets, that is; don't judge me) and things to cook/brew and plants to grow and pictures to take and poems to write and... if only I didn't have to earn a living (and, in what must seem a manifest insanity to all y'all non-USians, earn my health insurance) by going to work for "the man." <sigh>

4. I'm basically a happy guy, but if I have to pick one thing, it would be my daughter... and yes, thank FSM, I do have her in my life.

5. When my daughter and I mock head-butt each other and call it a "Scottish Kiss." That, and the Coneheads from SNL: "Remulak, a small town in.... France."

6. I never remember any of the narrative details of my dreams. All I can say is that most of them seem to involve unusual architecture, for whatever that's worth.

Re: Tell me about you!

1. painter smurf...I even had a puffy shirt and beret.

2.  Somewhere with water and rocks. It could be by the ocean, on a river or a waterhole.  I loved it in central australia.  Completely surrounded by desert but with the occasional water hole just plopped in the middle of nowhere.

3. No....I'm with nihpuad on this one.  So much to do so little time.  If I had the time my house would be perfectly clean and I would be making lots of art in my studio.  But alas my house is a hole and my studio is sitting and stagnating.

4.  People make me happy.  Especially little people.  I do sometimes miss the kiddies I used to teach.  They would say the most bizarre things.  I remember one boy was trying out some new insults (being the super rebel 4yo that he was) and he called me a dolphin face.  Weird kid.

5.  Dane's creepy face.  He pulls this face that both terrifies me and cracks me up.  He looks like a deranged homicidal clown aaaaarrrrrrgh!

6.I haven't been dreaming much lately.  I'm quite convinced the clown has been drugging me into a comatose state.  Too heavy to dream.

3. No, not even enough time to answer all questions

1. A tree doctor.  I think I had just seen a documentary about people climbing trees who my folks explained were fixing sick trees, when we were asked to draw what we wanted to be at school.  Don't know how I drew a tree doctor, but I was pretty sure anything that involved climbing trees all day was for me.

Watching this clip makes me wonder if I should have followed that dream.  Pretty rad.

6. I think I can come close to gala's:
The last dream I can remember I was male, 20s and had been abducted by two masked men who were coercing me to cut out my mother's and my sister's uteruses with a broken piece of glass. wtf? I think it helps that my dream family were not my real family.

Thanks for that, I love being in tree canopies and that was pretty amazing. My tree is only 40 ft high and is pollarded so has loads of trunks and easy climbing right from the ground.

Re: Tell me about you!

1. When I was small  I wanted to be a policeman or fireman. I briefly entertained the thought of being an architect when I was in grade 8, and then I wanted to be an artist. I do a  little bit of drawing and painting on the side for friends and relatives so that sort of came true.

2. My dream destination would be Australia.

3. Yes I have enough spare time. I work four 10 hr days a week, so I get a long weekend every week!

4. What makes me happy are my art, mountain biking, reading, and of course IFM and ISM. Fortunately I have time for everything.

5. Robot Chicken and The Family Guy.

6. I usually can't remember my dreams for more that an hour or two after I awake. One that sticks out I had several years ago. Back when I was riding my mountain bike very regularly I dreamed I was able to do "trials riding" like a pro, where you can balance and ride along very skinny objects, hop on objects with just your front or back wheel, wheelie drop from tall heights...etc. While I was in this dream this stuff came naturally like breathing, but I really only had pretty basic skills. So it was weird.

In response to the youtube reference from Blissed.  The holy laughter is wonderful, I could even see it as akin to an orgasm.  This could move me to reconsider my attitude toward fundamentalists.  As a web neophyte I am just realizing how much I am missing.  I was singlemindedly indulging in IFM and I stumle across your comment.                    Most grateful

Re: Tell me about you!

1. When you were small, what did you want to be when you "grew up"?

This changed various times...  I was into dance, drama and performance art from a really young age, so always wanted to be able to do something along those lines in any capacity.

2. Where's your dream destination?

Tonga.  Want to go there for a really long time and just chill the fuck out.  Take beautiful photos, film stuff, work on my tan, do lots of walking and thinking.  And drink cocktails out of a coconut on the beach.

3. Do you have enough spare time? If so, what do you like to do with that time?

Oh fuck no.  I has barely enough time to scratch my ass these days and we're not even in bush-doof season...  Oh the things I would do...  I would design and sew heaps more clothes, make jewelry, knit, photograph me and others so much more.  Do courses on lighting, photography, cinematography.  Get into helping set up parties and doofs again.  Go back to dance classes in about 8 different styles.  Maybe get a girlfriend/boyfriend.  Pay more attention to my herb garden and beautiful san pedros.  Cook from scratch every night and go to the market for fresh food every morning.  I'd write more.  Laf...  that's a lot of things.

4. What makes you happy and do you have this thing in your life?

I have soooooooo many things that make me happy that I only need a few to be present and I'm grinning like a fool.  Things that make me happy: sunshine, kittens, boobies, cheese, the gemini-mobile, friends, smiles, my beautiful little niece, family and most importantly *I* make me happy.  I believe that happiness comes from within and it's a decision you make.  I'm pretty determined to be happy.

5. Is there something stupid which never fails to make you laugh?

Dick jokes.  Basically any sort of filthy humor.  My mind lives in the gutter and appreciates company.

6. What is the last dream you had that you can remember?

Unfortunately it was a reoccurring nightmare that I had alllllllllll night.  It was quite horrid and all my family and friends were in danger.  Everytime it came to the dun dun dun moment where we were all about to die I'd wake up.  I don't really have nightmares often, so this sticks in my mind quite a bit as it was only about a week or so ago.

I pursued the Woosk lead to Yellowbird...  press release, but wasn't able to access it.  There is a lot of twit & blog about 3dvideo, but no substance.  I want a blog filter to discard the chaff.  The endless cross referencing of blogs is
cannibalistic, it's enough to drive me to wikidom or the wayback machine.
I do want to checkout 'Stumbledon".

Not sure what your saying Vouageur but the video worked fined for me at woosk. I searched google for the yellowbird site to see more and there they've taken down the demo and are going to put up more in a few weeks time so blogs that downloaded it work fine but if they hotlinked to the yellowbird site they won't. Hope thats not a load of gobbledigink but it makes sense to me smile

Oh I agree with that! when I was at Art college the happiest people there seemed to be the cleaners and canteen staff, people who you'd think had less to be happy about. Not saying thats true of all cleaners in all art colleges :) but it kind of illustrated your point to me.

Thanks for the response, it was clear.  I couldn't find a point of entry to the Woosk demo, but will pursue it later.  Foremost, I need a conversational outlet.
Besides beautiful bodies, and sexuality, I have several areas where I would enjoy sharing opinions.   It's the right time, maybe this is a good place.
And, did you refer to the paricipants as "porns & pervs".  I am an advocate of politically INCORRECT
