That was my reaction when I saw the BBC's report (below) on Microsofts Natal body and face recognition system. I'd love to use it to stand up and control software instead of sitting using just a mouse or pen or even when it's matured a little write characters for people to interact with and I think millions of people who write stories will want to do that as well.

Well, maybe, but it is only a hypothesis, blissed. It needs to be thoroughly tested and that requires volunteers who are willing to sacrifice for sience. Where are we going to find those???

I think anyone who has a USB device that lets someone touch them or effect them physically is kind of stigmatized as nuts at the moment, but I think haptic devices that are elegant, effective and made people look cool using them could be really popular.
