are a dance company from Melbourne using light projectors that react to the dancers movements. This video is called mortal engine and gets going about a minute in.

I found them on a blog yesterday and I'm a fan. Great music too.

I went to see that show, it was incredible, bizarre and riveting to watch - you kept thinking the light projector is going to mess up (silly i know!) but the lines are always perfectly in sync with the dancer, there were some very very beautiful patterns and colors and shapes going on, this idea works really well.
Chunky Move are the most inovative contempory dance group I've ever been to see. Every show is massively different and somehow brutal... Insofar 'Hydra' has been my favorite show by these guys.
Turn on. Tune in. Drop out.

I would imagine you know how it's achieved but for those who don't, in this short interview the choreographer Gideon Obarzinek explains.

In another exert from Glow shown near the end of a much longer interview with Gideon, the dancer leaves a trail of shapes based on the movement of her shadows which then kind of come alive, follow her and dissolve back into her. It's brilliant.
