Trains - a curiosity question

I have noticed a large number of the videos are shot in proximity to trains, trestles, rails, or rail yards.  wink

Do Aussies have any strange connection to these things because I don't think Canucks spend a lot of time near the Iron Horse adjuncts ????

I think it's just an IFM "thing". But it's very atmospheric and often sexy. What intrigues me is the ease of access to railway property. Here in the UK you'd be arrested before you got anywhere near an orgasm.

Re: Trains - a curiosity question

Is that right...I was in the UK last year and there were some fantastic railway locations. I was especially taken by Conwy castle in Wales where the train appears to go right through the castle, but it turns out to be a viaduct they designed to be in sympathy with the castle design.  I noticed though that all railways are fenced.  They couldn't do that here just because of the scale of the railway system, although half of it has been closed down in recent years.

We have been chased off railway property.  Just ask Charlotte_V!  Though we were too quick to get arrested.

Ashmedi, it's not just railways, and not just australians - anything big and rusty is sexy, don't you think?

Re: Trains - a curiosity question

I think in Canuckland you would get chased off rail yards, unused spur lines are in high population areas, and outside urban areas there may be 2 sets of tracks, and in use and not safe to lay between  wink

Actually Richard, some of the scariest movies I've seen involve big and rusty so sexy isn't my first thought, then I notice the curvy ones and the setting just blurs out, or maybe I subconciously block it out.
Actually, it was just an observation, and since these eyes don't see that well, the outdoor locations with light are quite appealing to me  wink  smile

Not necessarily, as that would be one of the more accurate descriptions of my ex mother-in-law.big_smile
