I have noticed that in the "Solo" section, only one young lady said she had abstained from all sex for three days before filming, because she wanted to put on a good show for the camera. She claimed this was an effort, because she was used to three or four orgasms a day.

Now what this young lady means by a "good performance" can be anything from... after abstaining I cum quicker and more frequently, through to the the orgasm is more intense and therefore moore likely to produce a good visual climax.

I have noticed that some of the younger participants strain very hard to reach a climax. Does this mean they perhaps had a busy sex life the day before filming? Or that under any circumstance they have to push hard in order to climax?

I also notice that some of the older performers can take things slower, but have little difficulty in climaxing. Does this mean they may have had a few days free of all sexual activity before filming? Or age has taught them how to relax and just let it happen?

Alternatively, the length of time to reach an orgasm is simply an individual thing and nothing to do with abstaining, or any other regular activity?

My lady friend and lover reaches an orgasm without much effort, but then her only sexual activity is once a week (so she claims?) and that could be deemed as a long period of abstaining even for a 47 year old woman.

Incidentally I have always understood that women actively engaged in sport are more inclined to masturbate more frequently than ladies in more sedentary occupations. Does anyone know if this is fact, based perhaps on personal experience?

I think she was Chloe/Strawberry, I think she loves modelling and goes to all sorts of functions and shows, I think she loves contributing as much as we love to see her, which is great :)

melange I would have mentioned the name if I could remember who it was, but she was one of the earlier solo performers. I started watching the solo performers in reverse order (oldest first) and therefore did not take much notice of her comment until almost up to date. I also think she said she would be able to produce a second orgasm, but the solo shot only produced one. This was not a fault, but as it was one of the first I watched, I remember playing it through a second time to see if I had missed something. I also remember she had quite a bubbly personality which at the time I thought was a nervous reaction to the camera.

It can take me any where from 30 seconds to 30 min to reach an orgasm.

When I'm just having a bit of a 'quickie' with myself I'm really only concerned with producing an orgasm as fast as possible. However, when I have a bit of time to kill or am doing an IFM video I like to take my time and generally fall in around the 10 min mark.

I think sometimes theres so much pleasure in being aroused that you don't really want it to end just yet, even if the climax is fantastic, stopping and letting the feelings subside a little and then starting again to prolong that pleasure, can make the climax even better I think.

As to how long it takes to reach an orgasm, I think, depends on the type of orgasm desired! As one mentioned, if just a quickie, direct stimulation right on the clitoris with a heavy duty vibrator might bring on an orgasm within about 30 seconds. Whereas a longer, slower, softer buildup with foreplay may take 30 minutes for the "first" one. It just all depends. And speaking for myself, it depends on whether I'm using fingers or a vibrator. A vibrator is always quicker than the fingers. And a vibrator and a dildo ... well ... that can be even faster and more intense. And now after years and years of practice (I'm in my late 50's, yeah and proud of it!), I know just what and how I like it, so can bring it on just about as quickly or slowly as I desire.

I think the answers prove what I have thought and that is it depends on need and the time available, as well as the intensity required.

The part missing from my original question is:- the the frequency, or time between orgasms. I can remember when young the frequency was three or four times a day, but now many more years down the track, once or rarely twice a week, will require less effort to achieve an orgasm. I see no reason for this to differ between male or female ? But then I could be wrong on this point.

Yes, when younger I would have near daily orgasms. I think my "peak" was about age 24. I would want to masturbate nearly all the time. I can remember even doing it in the car on the way home from work!! Or even at my desk at work!! Or in the bathroom stall at work. Anywhere, everywhere. Now, it is not daily, but probably several times a week. Usually a couple quick ones during the week since I have a busy schedule. Then on the weekends when I have more time, I can have longer sessions and have multiple orgasms. Not only multiple sessions, but multiple orgasms during those sessions! But I do find that on occasion, I will go sometimes two to three weeks without wanting to masturbate, but then I seem to make up for lost time!

I'm surprised more didn't pick up on this. I love this feeling. There is a kind of tantric control to the whole thing. I like to (or let my partner) bring my self really really close, perhaps right the the brink and then stop or slow down and slowly count to 10 then begin all over again.

Sometimes for me the act of reaching climax is just as exciting (if not more) than the climax itself

orgasms are all different. they can be intense or a series of small mini explosions that lead to an earthquake. it can take me anywhere from 1-2 minutes to 20-30 minutes to complete everything. every so often it takes a while and i can't seem to concentrate or something. but mostly i guess it takes an average of 5 or 6 minutes. actually if i have been active like making love with chuck or having a date with mollie, it takes me less time. i guess it is different for everyone.

It has always taken me awhile. I need a lot of stimulation to cum. I rarely cum in less than a half an hour. I'm not like most guys! If i go a couple of days without orgasming (which is rare!) i find the buildup to the orgasm better, but the orgasm itself is always weaker. If i have numerous orgasms in a short time i find each orgasm progressively better and better. No wonder i love masturbating so much!

I've always masturbated at least once a day. More often when I was a teenager. Oh definitely. I think the pleasure of being aroused for longer periods of time makes it that much more intense, and then relaxing. I think of it as a kind of meditative state.

Sometimes though, if I'm horny enough, it can take me no more than a minute. The intensity of my orgasms when I masturbate varies. The frequency, not so much. At least once or twice a day.

Sometimes it's quick, sometimes it slow. Sometimes it's quick because you might get caught, other times it's because you want it to be fast. Seems like the concensus is "it all depends"!
My experience is much the same. Premature ejaculation can be a killer - "You've always come and gone before I really got started" can be a marriage breaker. But so can the opposite, thrusting away for what seems like eternity and nothing happens on either side.
But then, another day/night, (and maybe another partner) the time, the ambience, or whatever is right, and you can give each other so much pleasure - who's worried about how long it takes?? When you started at 9 a.m. and it gets to "Oh s**t, we'd better get on with it, this is so good, but I need to get to the bank before they shut at noon" you know you're still alive!!
