Re: The question game

Before I got sober, my friends and I had an ongoing bet/dare. If it got too busy at the bar, who would be the first one to hop over it and start serving drinks. Not too strange I guess, but fun wink

However, management doesn't take too kindly to that (ie. foot in ass). It only really worked once, they were so damned busy, they didn't even notice.

We were always fun, and never picked any fights, so we were never really banned from any establishment, only kind of shunned temporarily.

I probably completed plenty of bets/dares that I have no memory of hmm

Great question though, what's the strangest thing you've ever done on a bet or a dare?

Re: The question game

I lost a bet on a field trip to the French part of Switzerland and had to organize an egg (at 9pm in a local village. In French.), start a fire under a stone bench and fry the egg on top of it. Luckily they saved me from eating what was one of the most disgusting and repulsive things I've ever seen.

Re: The question game

I like when you're online on the weekends, Bobby!

The most remarkable skeleton in my closet...it's probably the time I put a pickle in my teacher's coffee in the fifth grade.  It turns out that pickles make him deathly ill.  Luckily he figured us (my classmates and I) out before he drank any more of his coffee.  I still feel uneasy and ashamed when I think about it, especially because he was my favourite teacher and helped me through some crappy times when I was younger.  I'm a jerk.

Do you have any maps in your house?  Of what?

Re: The question game

Some old map of some huge treasure somewhere in Australia. When I go there on my vacation, I'll check it out.

Have you ever been so drunk that you passed out and woke up in an embarrassing situation? What exactly happened?

Re: The question game

I don't drink alcohol so I never get drunk, but I still embarrass myself on a regular basis. If I had a car, I'm probly one of those people who always forget where they've parked it.

Do you know anyone who forgot where they parked their car and never found it again? :)

Re: The question game

If you put that on an insurance claim form, would that be valid as a right off and get you a full payout?

Re: The question game

Actually a friend of mine decided to stop making car payments on her car because she wasn't using it anymore. Three months later, when the loan people showed up to repo the car, she realized it had been stolen.

The policeman who filled out the report regarded her very suspiciously.

Why aren't the people at help desks more helpful?

Re: The question game

I dunno, ask bobby, I think she used to work in a call centre which is near enough the same experience, minus the physical violence.

I don't suppose you can really blame the people who run a gay club if they only want gay clubbers, but amongst all the late night drinkers, how do the door staff decide who is gay and who isn't? :)

Re: The question game

They use their own in built gaydar. which ( as outword signs of gayness are a volentary expression of your sexuality ) of course, never work.

Re: The question game

it's really fucking hard working on a help desk especially in a call centre!
It's funny you should mention gay clubs only wanting gay clubbers because last night on a Australian satirical TV show they tested a gay club with that policy down the road to see if the purple telitubby with the handbag could get it. He could. I can to for the record.

Re: The question game

Hopefully tomorrow.  Maybe I'll even go pick it up for you.  Until then you can keep sitting right across from me because it's very convenient - I don't have to row my boat over to your side of the office to talk shit with you.

Who is distracting you, and why?

The group, or the blissful state of being free from ignorance and delusion? Or is there a difference?

Re: The question game

I said nasty things about them too, and today I was in the cafe and they were being played and I knew all the words to the songs even though I didn't like them when they came out (does it fuck me a bit to admit that I kinda went the Pearl Jam route?).  And I was absentmindedly thinking, 'this is good and i would listen to it voluntarily', and then I regained consciousness of who it was, and I instantly felt bad that I was such a prat when they were around and I didn't understand them and I used to talk uneducated trash all the time.

I'll hold them up for you for tonight, but you're going to have to ask Cate for a long-term solution as she's the local authority on such things.
