There is an attack on sex work and porn in the North Atlantic today, and some of the attacks focus on payment processing and age verification ("save the children!")  These also support the authoritarian trends since 2001 (if everyone has to interact with a computer system using their government ID to do something, the government can track that behaviour, some EU countries want to make government ID into a smartphone app).  The Americans at XBiz have one article on a proposal at https://www.xbiz.com/news/274064/age-ve … troversies
