Wow, I have been a member on IFM for years and never knew there was a forum till now!
Just wanted to say how much I love the site and how it has inspired me to want to create my own porn. I have cerebral palsy and am an activist for sex and disability to become a more visible, mainstream topic. Disability isn't represented in porn in an empowered way at all and I would love to make conscious interabled porn to show people that we have sex lives too!
Would anyone have any advice for me here? I love the idea of it being along the same lines of IFM where it is all about female pleasure (although I am male).

Hi moreva! So glad to have you here... and you're so right about the lack of empowered porn ft. people with disabilities. I used to fantasise a lot about fucking a guy in a wheelchair, and felt guilty for that because it was perhaps wrong to think that way? But if I'd seen a range of disabilities in porn I might not have felt it was wrong, but just another kind of hot! I would love to see some hot otherly-abled porn. I usually read my porn, and even there it's so rare to read about any disabilities... I feel like Hyperballad probably has some knowledge about socially progressive non-ableist visual porn!

Thank you viva! May i say first of all, love your videos!
I love hearing that such content might be of interest to able-bodied people as well. I think you are right, its so taboo that I find potential partners are too afraid to ask questions and therefore discount any sexual interaction.
Would be great to normalise it in that way in exactly the same way i feel IFM depicts empowered women.
I'm curious to know, what was it about fucking a guy in a wheelchair that was a turn-on for you?
Disclosure, I do get around in a wheelchair lol.

Indie Porn is kinda my special area of knowledge. And it never comes up in trivia, so I love getting to share the things I know.
I'm going to be very straight with you - it is very difficult to sell your work independently as a male performer. If you're up for the challenge then a great place to start connecting with others who are doing good things in terms of small alt porn productions would be NSFW Twitter.
You're 100% going to need to build an online presence there, solid connections & netwoooooork - if you enjoy writing a blog would be helpful as well. You want to show unequivocally that you are indeed a real person, genuine & committed to what you are doing.
Social media is key, the reasons are 2 fold - you need a platform to advertise your work on & you need a good network to find co performers on.
Also: what gear do you have? Do you have a space to shoot in? Are you happy to create solo work to start with? Do you want to create a website or use an existing platform such as ManyVids or OnlyFans? Do you have editing skills? Are you going to pay co-performers or ask for content trades?
^These are all very important things!
A great place to familiarise yourself with would be the CrashPad series, they show a range of body types of different abilities. Pink & White do some great stuff, Courtney Trouble does too & Bella Vendetta, I think Chelsea Poe has done some stuff with disabled folks. This is all much more 'hard core' than what we do at IFM btw. I haven't seen an IFM style lens cast over disabled bodies yet.
I don't really watch loads of porn anymore, when I do it's usually things that are directly from performers (I'm subbed to Pink Maggits OnlyFans atm) or something that is striking to me - for example a specific scene on Kink.com)
Anyone who makes or has made porn & sold it will tell you it's a huge amount of work. I loved the things I was making over the last several years, but it is an eternal hustle - you need to be comfortable with that hustle or happy to run at a loss & make it more of a creative project/hobby.
I don't want to overwhelm you, so I'm just going to leave you with this info for now

Thank you so much for your detailed reply H. I definitely knew it would be a tough slog to make my own. With everything else that I do, perhaps too much. I think you are right that as a male performer its much harder. Perhaps Feck could think about it.
If IFM are ever looking to represent disability and for a male body, please contact me

hey moreva, thanks for liking my videos <3 about a wheelchair - the fantasy is about the machinery. Climbing into it, perching on it, pulling the break. And it's about the immobility - control over the man, squatting over him, him being unable to limit or exert power over the pace of the sex, just going at my own pace while he is just face-buried in my boobs and can't see or do anything else.. it's almost like with the power of the legs gone, the power of the cock becomes even more big and important...
IFM is definitely all about the female body, but I know we would love to shoot a woman with disability if she were keen to shoot with us. I am sure some of our contributors may have invisible disabilities, but its up to each person how they see and present themselves.

I think maybe if you want money or a big audience it could be hard and a hustle like Hyperballad describes, but I've made porn just for myself or my partner before and it's so rewarding. in and of itself. just the process... you dont need much. just your body and a recording device.

If you want to be paid for independently produced content it's a hustle, full stop. I don't want to dissuade anyone, but it's the honest truth. Independent creators work really, really hard.
Making content that is for yourself is another thing entirely, it's all of the joy without the burden of marketability.

My intention wasn't to put you off, it was to give you an accurate idea of what's involved to get started. Making porn to sell on your own is a labour of love. It is incredibly rewarding, I have had a blast shooting my own things but it is hard work.
I'd still encourage you to create a NSFW Twitter & go exploring. There are so many very cool creators out there. It's hugely inspiring seeing people from all walks of life making new things all of the time.

The sub/dom thing is really interesting as i've only got into kink in the last 5 yrs or so but realise now im super kinky haha. What i've discovered is im a very dominant person mentally but love being submissive physically. The idea you speak of of being used for sex is actually a major turn on for me. Probably due to years of being surrounded by a conservative world which had me feel non-sexual so I started believing it myself. I later realised the opposite was true
Anyhow, nice to know there may be a viewership out there for such content!

Thank you for the encouragement! I will set myself the task of finding a co-performer. As a straight male, i'm not sure there is any market for solo content.

You know I do think there is a space needed for beautiful, sensual & sexual representations of disabled bodies in porn. I really do!
I wish you all the best in your pursuit of this goal, however it ends up turning out (for personal exploration or a product you choose to market)
And if you do come for play on smutty-twitter let me know, I'll friend you

Welcome to the forum moreva! The way the Internet lets us find people who think we are sexy, or like the things we like, is so powerful.
I agree that queer indy porn might be a space to explore. There are some people who want to reclaim terms like crip and gimp.
Sex and disability and sex and ageing are definitely taboo subjects. Marty Klein in California always says that a lot of our talk about sex assumes everyone has a young healthy body and at best we get those for part of our lives.

Oof, long story! I had a friend with cerebral palsy early in school, and I also have some bits that don't work as well as some people's. And the people who like to blog or talk or theorize about sex are sometimes helpful for articulating things even if I don't always grok them or find labels as helpful as they do?
Stoya just linked to a site mentioning "an 18+ performer, feminist, and advocate for the representation of disabled bodies in pornography. She (GoAskAlex) has spent the past six years as a webcam model and online companion. After becoming an ostomate in 2019 she focused her career on advocating for underrepresented bodies in adult media. She has since then been featured in XBIZ magazine, including a cover photo as their first ever model with an ostomy, and was featured in Hustler E-Magazine for her 'Disabled Sex Workers' Calendar. "

I've had wonderful interactions with her, she is really open & positive about what is going on for her, but keeps it real. You can also find her on the Twitters! Just sayin'

I found this discussion from wondering if someone had mentioned before what I'd considered lately. Namely that it would be good if this site had a contributors who's a wheelchair user.

It would be amazing! Unfortunately it's considered impolite to kidnap people off the streets so we'll just have to wait until someone comes forward...
