The numbers for titles are useless .... Where are the real titles? ... very frustrating ... considering ending subscription unless fixed for new and old ASAP ..

It's not terribly difficult to just copy and paste the title of the video from the site onto your download. A mild inconvenience, at best. Hardly something worth threatening to unsubscribe over...and honestly, I hate that practice in general. Comes off as quite entitled. It's entirely possible to ask the management to bring back titles in a polite way. Far more likely to get the desired result, in fact.

the discontent emerging from this technical mishap for me really underscores how problematic and toxic masculinity is - all of the complainants are obviously male, and their desire to have some kind of organisational control over these files underscores how perhaps even ethical porn cannot fully and completely transcend and subvert the male ego.

I think it's more like even ethical businesses can't ever fully transcend the intrinsic human greed and entitlement which are consistently fed by a consumerist economy which says your value lies in your dollar not in the way you treat other people. *pant*.

that said, I'd say most of our members are just amazing and kind, with great manners so we must be doing something right. if this guy wants to unsubscribe over the filenames, that's okay I guess. His loss? I mean, no one does what we're doing, as well as we are doing it, anywhere else on the web, really.

If he's just so angry and frustrated about this change that he doesn't know how to express his feelings and all he has is the weight of his consumer privilege to throw around, that's okay too. I validate you, Gwestxxx. It sucks that you're disapointed. I liked the old filenames too.

But financial entitlement has no weight as a threat here. We do our best every day, not only to please our customers, but to continue to produce this site that we are proud of. Your bad attitude just won't help! It won't change anything. Go or stay, as you please. We'd rather you stay, and our apologies for the inconvenience of renaming downloaded files. If you stay, maybe it will give you an extra moment to appreciate the titles I make

As someone else said, just change them to the title. I copy the whole name (double click to highlight the whole thing) to get e.g. "dadida 1 BY someoneorother", and then use a file renamer that I wrote a rule for to change it to "someoneorother dadida1". Takes a few seconds.

Hey Mori! Do you think you could tell us the file renamer you use and how to write a rule for it? Maybe it would be helpful for members if we could make a sticky with instructions on how to do so. We could make the rule so that the new filename matches the old style filenames exactly, that way people wont accidently download duplicates.

Hi Viva! I think I need to hang out here a bit more, it's more interesting than my occasional outings into Facebook.

I use Ron's Renamer from https://www.ronsplace.eu/Products/RonsRenamer. There's a limited free version, but it's best to buy the full one ($17.50 US (£12.50 UK) at the moment), so not expensive but worth it. It works by providing a set of parameterised rules that can be used together to rename just about anything in an intelligent way. What you see is a list of the rules that you've chosen to use with the parameters you've set, and then it shows what all the files will look like after renaming, and which ones won't work (e.g. the new name is a duplicate). You can turn each rule on and off to check it's doing what you expected it to do. for testing it. When you're satisfied it's all working, it will work for any number of files in the format the rule supports (i.e " BY " in this case). When you press "rename" it will do just that, but show any that didn't work so that you can find out why, fix it, and then rename just those.

You can save all the rules if you want to keep them as backups. I use it a lot for IFM & ISM, and also for other sites where I download things.

The ruleset I'm using to rename the new format CAT'S MEOW 1 BY STACEY_O to StaceyO Cat's Meow1 is roughly:

... original name: CAT'S MEOW 1 BY STACEY_O
- Replace ' BY ! with "!!" CAT'S MEOW 1!!STACEY_O
- Remove spaces and unwanted letters or symbols CAT'SMEOW1!!STACEYO
- Change to Title Case Cat'sMeow!!StaceyO
- Replace !! with ' ' Cat'sMeow1 StaceyO
- Swap position 0 with position 1 StaceyO Cat'sMeow1
- Add IFMISM to End (so I know where it came from): StaceyO Cat'sMeow1 IFMISM

You can do some basic logic as in the bit about changing space to !! and then changing it back to space later, which amounts to saying IF there's a space here then don't remove it along with all the other spaces.

I'd suggest trying the trial version. It's worth getting if you download lots of images from different sites.

I should specify that you would apply these changes *after* downloading it.

This is awesome Mori thanks! Just to clarify - when you download, the videos are automatically titled with the new format numbers, right? Not the all caps CAT'S MEOW 1 BY STACEY_O?

So how do you get from the numbers to the words?

ps yeah we're better than facebook, facebook is just rubbish nowadays. no good conversations!

Just double click on the title and it will highlight the whole lot, then copy and paste it over the numeric name in the save dialogue box when you download it - today's movie copies as SLIDE INTO MY DMS 2 BY LUCY_P. I changed the name by hand to LUCY_P~IslaT. The '~' just makes programs treat the names as one word instead of two.
