Two Hands

Today we had a submission from a divine German girl who recorded 2 enthusiastic 'takes' in succession.  I noticed that she used one hand for each, and they seemed to be equally dextrous, so I asked her how she came to be so well balanced in the hand department.  It came out that a few months ago she had broken her wrist and by necessity, had to learn to do all the important things with her other hand.  How did this happen?  Well suffice to say, her boyfriend's ribs are harder than her clenched fist...yoiks. And she seemed such a gentle, lovely creature.

It made me think about things that would be so fiddly trying to master with the other hand.

Scratch tickets
Texting
Setting an analogue watch
Brushing teeth
Disarming a nuclear device

etc.

I tried that and I failed. When I'd said how good I was at it as well. It was so embarrassing!!

Re: Two Hands

try crossing your hands over and playing the piano.

conjuring a rabbit from this hat (again?? this trick never works).

Cufflinks are a major pain with either hand.

Re: Two Hands

A friend of mine writes with his right the normal way and with his left can do mirror writing. Weird...

Another hard thing: Using the computer mouse. Try it. Put it on the other side. And now try to click. Sucks...

I can use a mouse with either hand no problem.  I have it on what ever side of the keyboard is convenient.

Strange. Since the buttons are then basically "the other way round" my coordination always gets messed up. Well, maybe you've got to be an Elf to do this...

Re: Two Hands

I know someone who is left-handed. At home he has the mouse on the left. And at work he has the mouse on the right because that's the way his workplace is set up (I don't think the system allows for the mouse to be relocated on the other side, a feature they overlook.)

He does foreplay with his left hand, but can use his right hand if required. Haven't asked him about wanking. big_smile
