I'm not in love right now, of course that depends on one's definition of love. I have no "significant other", but I do love. I have been in love before, albeit a long time ago. Sometimes I wonder if I've forgotten what love is. Then.....when I least expect it, that twinkle. A little flutter, that reminds me I'm alive.

Re: The question game

Oops, sorry.

This past Twelfth Night (Jan. 6) I was throwing a Christmas tree into the bonfire and tossed my glove in with it. Although, I think that would qualify as an accidental incineration.

Can you translate this?

Aloha i'a au oe

C/ Climb up a tree (pointless)
D/ cry
E/ Phone a friend
F/ Phone the police (they wouldn't believe you)
G/ say your prayers & die (most likely)

Re: The question game

A and D are the correct answers.

B is far too dangerous.

Re: The question game

Yeah.  I think so.  I must have been asleep, because I really don't remember when it happened.  I'm going to go with the time between 1990 and 1992.

Are there any specific household chores that you enjoy?

Are you concerned about the insidious threat that pirate pooch's pose to the polite population?

Hopefully I'll have some wild flowers in my garden this year.

Whats the point in gardening when if you don't do any, you can still have a beautiful wild garden?

I've seen it done with seven before, but if they were well practiced then it could be done with less I imagine.

Helen Hunt (the American actress, I mean; I imagine there are other Helen Hunts in the world):

I can't really explain precisely why, but I've just always had a crush on her since Mad About You.

What (existing, nonfictional) vehicle would you most like to borrow for a day?

No, never did. I've been on the recieving end of that soap-opera bullshit. I don't know if she justified it to herself. I think she just avoided any guilt by not thinking about it at all. I have a friend who has dated more than one person at a time, on more than one occasion, he never justifies it to himself. He just walks around feeling like an asshole.

Some people are not content unless there is a quantifiable measure of chaos in their life. Its really kind of sad, people get really hurt. It becomes a major problem later in life, they leave a path of destruction. Divorce, emotionally scarred children, financial problems, etc. Not good. Soap-opera bullshit.

Is there a language you would like to learn/are learning? If so, which one?

Re: The question game

Nippon, but me learning Dutch is a long story involving a phrase book, cassette from the library, a website and a set of CDs that store all the useful Dutch vocabulary, none of which is in my head.

I've written short stories, how hard can it be to write a novel?

Re: The question game

I started writing a novel when I was 10. In fact I started writing about 10 from the ages of 10-14 and never finished the first chapter of any. Its really hard, especially for the gramatically challenged such as ourselves!

Re: The question game

I've not written a novel, but I have done my share of therapeutic writing.  I used to write a "break-up blog".  I had just ended my relationship with my long time live-in girlfriend, and I thought it therapeutic to write about it.  At the end, I was just posting photographs and apologizing for the lack on inspiration.  It did, however,  allow me to meet some really fascinating people whose friendship I have some to really treasure.

Have you ever met someone in person that you had only written to via internet?
