Re: The person below

That would be me. I get enough money, I'm just no good at spending it in the right places. My financial plan involves many hours in tattoo shops, shiny white boot roller skates, and hair clips. Weirdly enough when I was younger I was very studious, cautious and responsible. My family hoped I'd go to law school.

The person below was bound for glory but got waylaid on the journey.

Re: The person below

I think the original meaning has something to do with being ambushed. The meaning here, Arielle correct me if I'm wrong, is to be sidetracked, distracted, knocked of course. Something like that.

So, back to Arielle's below thingy:

The person below was bound for glory but got waylaid on the journey.

I'm a mixture of touch typing and luck... so I'm like a chicken on meth.

The person below has an established relationship with someone in real life and they are ecstatic about it.

Thank you Mr. Elfman. I rather like it. A bit of a departure from my previous one. Although, if I were to get philosophical, which I won't, parallels can be made between the cat/lion picture and this one.

Speaking of cats...Yes I love them! I have two cats!

Below is a person who would love to go skydiving (if they haven't already).

Well obviously everyone's shallow and wants large amounts of money. (don't blame you)

Re: The person below

Yeah, I've been... hell, I don't know where, actually.  So cheers, Blissed.

Best food I've ever tasted?  It would have to be this thing called a Macho Burrito which is available at this vegetarian restaurant in my hometown.  It's beans, cheese, and BBQ soy pieces served semi-open faced with a whole wheat tortilla and brown rice.  I've been ordering the same dish for almost the entirety of my vegetarianism, which is coming up on... for fuck's sake... nineteen years?  Can that be right?  My God it is.

Anyhow, they don't have it on the menu any longer, so you have to order it in a roundabout sort of fashion.  But once you get past the look on the servers face when you ask her for it, it's a bit of heaven on a plate.

Re: The person below

at the london farmers' markets there was a farm that did oak-smoked cherry tomatoes.  they were packaged in either olive or sunflower oil.  they were amazing.  they were fresh tomatoes, not sun-dried or semi-dried or anything.  so they still had that fruit-like texture, and the skins were sort of blistered like when you roast a fresh tomato.  i used to eat them on toast for breakfast, in pasta, on crackers, and with whatever other carbs i could get my hands on.  the oil was great as well - you could use it as a cooking oil or a bread dipper.  the tomatoes were sweet and salty and savoury and such a wonderful little treat when you got one in a bite.  mmm, fuck yeah.  i used to buy a couple of little jars of them at a time.  i tried to see if they would post them to me when i moved back to liverpool, but they didn't sell them anywhere else but at the markets.  i had seen them a bunch of times at the smaller markets like notting hill and pimlico, but i'd say the ultimate place to get them was at borough market, because that place is just a cespool of foodie hedonism and you could get oak smoked cherry tomato samples, walk three feet and have blue cheese from a small farm in france that comes to london for the market, and then go another three feet and have a fucking chocolate truffle.  and then a cute hippie girl would sell you organic hot chocolate and when she mixed the milk and the chocolate you'd give it up right there and have an orgasm.

and by 'you' i mean 'me'.

so.  yes.  back to the question.  oak-smoked cherry tomatoes might not be the greatest thing i have ever eaten, but they are something i have never seen again and that i could only get in one place on the earth.  and borough market is an orgy.  so: i'd go to london in the fall, maybe late september or early october, and in addition to the other free samples, i'd have oak-smoked cherry tomatoes.

what's one thing you ALWAYS need in your fridge?

I always need Miracle Whip.  Many people think it is gross.  I cannot live without it.

Sticking to the subject of food, what is a food that you hated as a child but discovered that you love now that you're all grown up?

Re: The person below

hey polarchill...we're in the wrong thread.  i just figured that out.  i got used to the question thread, so i asked a question instead of doing a 'the person below...' statement.  oops.  oh well, it's funner to fuck up when there's someone else doing it with you.

miracle whip...yikes.  but you didn't like my ketchup-on-grilled-cheese thing, so i guess we're even.

my friends are in a queer feminist burlesque troupe called the miracle whips.  cute, huh.

the person below knows what thread we're in and will get things back on track.
