I can also make things with my mind, that then get built in reality and people live in them.

You can also write poetry jessicaxmas whether you realise it or not.

Thanks Jessica for firing this thread up again.  I wish the inimitable Burlesque, who gave it life in the first place, would still post.  Anyway I didn't come here to express my creative talents because what I have is pretty meagre, but I did want to express my thanks to Jessica for getting this thread going again.  I am hopeful it will inspire Burlesque to post again.  Now there's a creative writing talent if ever I saw on.

Man, Bolero, that's true, it is. But he's not alone. You, in that post you deleted from the "a bit of romance" thread, wrote a post whose beauty has not been surpassed here, I think.

And I don't mean to be qualifying our posts relative to one another's. But sometimes, rarely, I'll read something that makes my heart sing -- or feel like it's a rapid skiff on the most placid water. That post felt that way,as have a few others.

And I agree with Elfman about Jessica's poetic comment!

Re: Creative endeavours, pretentious and otherwise.

Thank you all for making me feel special...I will reassurect other worthy posts then...

As for the poemic *thing*, thanks again, i will accept any compliment i can get, because i am Greek and insecure smile

I wonder what is the most unusual creative talent anyone has around here...

Imagine if everyone were together at a gathering, we would have all sorts of art, all sorts of music, poetry, book readings, magic tricks, films other than the porn variety as well, plays, singing, crafts, satyrical sketching and tarot readings (need one right now...)...and on goes the list.

We all must share one talent in common though...do we not? smile

I meant Pipe Dreams which should've been in the main vewer window when you clicked on the link. It's a 3+ minute animation of a curious music machine... I started to call it a "Rube Goldberg" machine, but it's actually much more conceptually coherent than that makes it sound.

I tried to check out the one you watched, but the site doesn't seem to be working for me this morning. ;(

It takes a lot of balls to make music like that.

I've only been playing for about a month so I'm not good enough to have a real song... just that thing. Still, sounds nice smile

Stick with it Ryan.  The guitar is tough when you're first starting out but it's worth the struggle in the end.

The Struggle of Man's Inner Thoughts

Now if only I could find a way to put lyrics to it... too bad I can't sing.

Well, I managed to make one... and it's not too horrible.

But I desperately need help with some flexibility exercises because I think, once I can manage even a little bit of flexibility, I'll be able to hit some awesome stuff. The limitations are finally showing up.

Re: Creative endeavours, pretentious and otherwise.

I've been getting back into my artwork recently and have been making model airplanes that I then photograph atop of mirrors and panes of glass reflecting the sky. This is for a series of drawings I'm starting. I got a lot done on the weekend and have made two more planes since then as I'm absolutly hooked. I could spend a fourtune in hobby and art supply stores.

Are these like "Airfix" models Cate? I was passionate about them many years ago.

Re: Creative endeavours, pretentious and otherwise.

Similar the ones I'm making are 'Academy' as there cheap and I'm not really making them for the sake of the models but for the drawings of them so I don't paint them or apply the decals so they're all a drab grey. But so far I've made two diffrent Messerschmitt's, a B47-E and a F84E/G Thunderjet. I really wanted a B 52 but couldn't find any affordable ones.

Re: Creative endeavours, pretentious and otherwise.

My Favourite Airfix model was B-17. I used to love making things but I don't do it much anyomore.  Yesterday I made a stick puppet Robin for a children's theatre group I'm working with.  Nothing fancy.  Just a two dimensional cardbord cut out with wings suspended by strings from a five foot rod but I enjoyed doing it.
