Re: A bit of romance.

Wow. Bolero -- your post above was one of the most beautiful things I've ever read, on- line or anywhere else. It was the sort of post one longs to read (and there have been more than a few of those here, lately, you people!), the sort of post for which one can spend weeks on a considered response -- I came back today to reread it and print it out to take home with me over the holidays -- and it was gone smile

Ah, yet another lesson in un-attachment. Gassho!

Re: A bit of romance.

However.....

I have recently had my interest stirred by a girl I've met recently. She's from the Middle East and over in Scotland studying, working at a stall selling various things. Of course I was completely charmed and ended up spending the cash and having a wee chat in the process. If only I was a little more forward then I might have asked her out. Now I'll need to see if she remembers me the next time I'm at the stall and if we strike up another conversation.

Hell, probably nothing will happen, but it's certainly nice to find that little spark you get when you meet someone whom you like straight away. It's been a while since that happened, and it's nice to know I actually am still alive.

Re: A bit of romance.

Ha. Well, I wasn't really looking for any wishes of good luck (though thank you). I might never see the girl again, and I never did look for a ring. We'll see though. It's just nice to meet someone that makes you think twice as it's been a while since that happened....

Re: A bit of romance.

For the first time, even after being in some therapy, talking to my close friends, and hours of thinking on my own etc. i am hopefull i have found a place where not only i can talk and listen about the sexual aspects of my personality and relationship,
but also dive deep into the essence of what a happy relationship is, what the boundaries are and how one can combine individuality and companionship, aspects that in my case sometimes confict...

it is uplifrting and a great new year's gift for me...

p.s. for the new year, i am giving my boyfriend of 8 years some videos i have seen here...at the moment we are reliving the start of our passionate affair but with the wisdom and closeness of all these years, so i hope he will enjoy...

bolero, since I am a serial and chronic deleter myself, I fully respect your right to withdraw your post, but those of us who read it in its original form appreciated it.

Thankyou Calenture and Siobhan for your appreciation.  Although I have expressed my appreciation of what others have written here I have also wanted to relate an experience of my own, but thruthfully was kind of daunted by the profound experiences so movingly told by others.  When I finally got around to it I felt hugely ambivalent about one aspect of my story; i.e the difference in age between myself and my first lover - not the difference itself, but talking about it. It bothered me ( I don't know why!!!!) and I didn't have time to discuss it with anyone before I went on holiday so I just deleted the whole thing.  Hmmm sometines the slash and burn side of my personality reveals itself unexpectedly.

Very nice to see you here jessicaxmas.  I am looking forward to listening to those sexual aspects of your personality and relationships which you choose to share.

Re: A bit of romance.

::just stopping in to say that i agree with bolero on that last point, jessica, and also that the age difference, i found lovely, and also quite different from what we normally hear and see. ::

edit for clarification: was speaking of the age diff, bolero, that you mentioned in your story.
