Re: The person below

My goodness, however did you know?

Actually, the person I'm obsessed with is not, in fact, the Queen, but she plays one on celluloid. I speak, of course, of the royally gifted and incredibly sexy Helen Mirron, about whom I feel so strongly that I even admit it on my personals profile (it's so important to be up front and honest about these things, don't you think).

The person below is a highly intelligent person who is also a wondeful writer, but who is afflicted, through some karmic glitch not of his/her own making, with a terribly frustrating case of writer's block. God help you.

No I'm not the mad Swede but you're quite right I wouldn't.

The person below is secretly Welsh.

Well... there was nothing in my dark side that really interested me. I guess I just dont have what it takes to be a bad guy.

No, I'd probly grind it up and season my dinner with it.

What the person below doesn't know is that I know something that they think I don't know, and they thought nobody except the people they thought know, knew. even tho now other people know that I know that didn't know anything.

Re: The person below

Of course and she's making a comeback soon.

Anyway, I know what to do now if I buy a new pair of shoes and their a little bit tight. Piss in them and leave them overnight. That way, when I put them on in the morning they'll just mould to my feet like a pair of piss soaked slippers smile. and who cares about smelling of urine at work, I know people who smell worse than that and nobody ever tells them.

The person below gets a big kiss from me Mwah!! and a double hug just for being the way they are.

(incidentally, bolero, i wasn't intending Burlesque up above -- was I maybe intending you?? check it out and see if it fits. the smarts and the wonderful writing definitely do. 'course, that's true of all of us, including lots of folks we haven't heard from in a while.)

Meanwhile, Burlesque, from what I've heard, not to make too big a stink of it, seems to go away every time I come back up for air. That's fine. we can take turns.

Oh dear, busted. So far I've just looked at the vids. Heheh. And been a shy lurker here -- I think I missed my cue a while back? The kind Siobahn has been encouraging me to join in....  Am I doing this right? I've no idea.

How odd to be shy in a virtual community? Do I have to explain or can I just slip in here and say -- the person below me will not only answer all of my questions, but loves large bunny rabbits (or perhaps is one?)(Harvey?)???

Hi Matilda, welcome to the forum, Like Elf said you don't have to explain anything and to anyone who reads the forum it's a few of US that have some explaining to do smile Anyway, Yep I like large bunny rabbits and little tiny ones as well.

WELCOME! WELCOME! WELCOME!

Don't worry about "doing this right". Just bring your virtual and/or real self and join in. We're a friendly bunch for the most part. IFM is the first forum I've ever been a part of and for me it has been life changing. (You can read more of why I joined the site in the "why I joined the site" thread.)

Anyway, welcome. I hope you will continue to join in.

Welcome to the forum shamfritters smile hope you enjoy it.

The person below doesn't ask much out of life, just to be left alone to exist in their own little bubble of time and space, where they can play with their model railways and pretend they are unquestioningly in charge and absolute ruler of their own miniscule domain.

It's still open to question, as far as I'm concerned.  For what it's worth, back in college I did run into a side alley and stop (kind of) a gay bashing.

Of course, at the time I didn't have time to say to myself, "Look, a gay bashing, I must stop it!"  I thought it looked like a couple of big guys beating the crap out of a little guy.  It was outside a bar, so I figured they were just robbing the guy.  I tried to help out (pre-cell phone days; young folk; 911-ing was a little more complicated back then), and still have a little scar on my right forearm from where one of the rotten little fuckers stuck a knife in me.  Still, with my clumsy entry there was someone closer to their own size grabbing on and punching one of them in the face, while their would-be victim was running out into the street and yelling for help.  The guys decided that the whole business was more trouble than it was worth, and took off.

I took the poor guy back into the bar, where we called the cops.  After a trip to the ER (which didn't involve much more than a bandage and some kind of shot, probably a tetanus booster) and a police report, that was it.  But as I told my mother, at least I got to have my first ride in the back of a police car without having my rights read to me.

Anyway, the guy I stepped in to help out (his name was Bill, which went against so many of my youthful preconceived notions) insisted that I had saved his life.  I've always felt that he was exaggerating, or maybe I just hoped he was, since my college town had never seen a serious gay-bashing incident of the type that often get headlines.  Either way, nothing more ever came of it.  Bill kept me updated for a while, but the descriptions we gave the police didn't lead to anything.  It could have been a couple of kids from one of the small towns nearby, or even some out-of-towners visiting college friends.  Who knows, maybe the police (and especially campus police) weren't particularly anxious to go looking for suspects.  It wouldn't be the first time a college town decided it would be better if a problem just was forgotten.

End of story.  The person below likes the smell of a fine cigar. (certainly more than I do, pheww)

Re: The person below

...which would be me.

I, too, thank you, years later, Polarchill. I also love hearing that you grew up in a college town. Lucky man -- I always envied you folks.

I will walk a mile to get away from the smell of a cigarette. Cigars and weed, however, don't give me migraines, and I like both. Meanwhile, there's ONE cigar I love and I make sure to tuck in a bunch when I go home for the holidays; it's the only way I've managed to weasel my way into the (formerly male) enclave of post-prandrial cigar smoking out on the porch.

They are from a couple of buys in Bkln who bought some land in Nicagaragua and have been putting out what, to my mind, is the perfect cigar for my generation -- used to be called Drew Estate cigars, now the company name is changed, I think, simply to "Natural." They have various types, ones called Dirt, which are very nice, but the ones I love are called JUICY LUCYS, and are small and elegant, with the most wonderful sweetness on the outside, and a robust something inside. IT probably appeals to my own masculine/feminine thing. Anyway, I heartily recommend.

The person below thinks that Britney's flashing last week was totally understood by the press and most everyone else for the bravely transgressive and ultimately socially transformative act it truly was and is:
