Re: "hairy" pubes....

I agree with Viva, too many people end up with extensive scars, sore looking ingrown hairs and even infections from shaving all the time.

It's so interesting how much thought we all put into our pubic hair grooming - all the options of how it can look, how it feels, what it says about our personality. I wonder how much our interpretations of physical feelings are influenced by society. Like I do find the feeling of long pubic hair next to my labia kind of uncomfortable, but I also remove it because I'm not entirely ready to have the identity of a really hairy girl... though I'm pretty close to it. I also doubt I would find it uncomfortable if I'd never had it any other way.

Sometimes I feel like the ultimate "best" way of grooming pubic hair is to let it grow to its maximum length because that's its natural state, and preserving that shows a certain respect for your body and refusal to be influenced by the society and time you live in.

But sometimes I think the best way of having it is to trim it short so you get the benefits of having pubic hair but it's not so long that it gets in the way of someone giving head or feels too bushy.

Then rarely I think the best way of having it is to completely remove it all because OMG that smooth feeling, it feels so good to be licked all over and it gives you an unobstructed view of all the pink bits. Though honestly I've only ever completely removed my pubes twice and it really freaked me out both times because it reminded me of being a kid!

So in conclusion there are lots of ways to do your pubic hair but I wish there was just one best way so life would be simpler and I didn't have to think about it so much.

Re: "hairy" pubes....

I feel the same, it's all so confusing. I don't have the same feeling as you guys about being uncomfortable with long pubes, I find them completely neutral-to-good feeling, but I would love to have the know-how/confidence to switch up the style sometimes. Unfortunately I don't really understand 'pubic hair styling'. As I posted before, I see a lot of it, but I rarely see a groomed pubic area I find attractive that hasn't been post-edited. To me, attempts to keep the visual effect of a bush in front but get it hairless on the vulva lips (which is ideally what I would have) always looks weird, and other grooming patterns - landing strips, lil triangles - also look odd especially when not kept up day by day.

Head-hair styling is an art and a science with lots of education, experience and techniques, and when I bring my beautiful long hair to the hair-dresser they are always excited to play with it.

But if I go to a salon with my pubic hair hoping to get it cut and styled in a unique and attractive way, I am met with stares of horror for my bushy bush. And I have a particularly tame pubic area, my hair is long but grows within the typical "bikini area" - so I can only imagine how they treat girls who have been natural for awhile and who grow hair outside of that area.

Not only stares of horror, but basically pubic hair stylists - if there even is such a thing - pretty much seem to know one trick and that is, remove all the hair. This is a weird look for me both for my aesthetic taste and my body type. So I feel like I have no choices actually between completely long and bushy, and completely waxed naked. Blah.

I never really think about trends, society, or what men may or may not like when it comes to my pubes, I've never been a very fashion-y person. I did used to remove the hair once in awhile for a special treat for my man, but I never found a style that really suited (see above).

My favorite era for my pubes was when I did my first ISM shoot, example:

At that point I was waxing once in awhile. I had a full bush but the hairs were relatively short and did kind of a cool fountain effect with a little curl. Now I haven't waxed since then (almost 5 years ago omg!) and it looks pretty much the same, but the hairs are long now so I've lost that nice volume effect. I would totally go pay for a  trim since I feel I would mess up the shape with my own scissors, but no one actually wants to take my money in exchange for giving me a professional hair cut down there. Shame.

Re: "hairy" pubes....

Ahaha poor Viva, that's true, I don't know any HairSdresser !!

For me, I pretty agree with Studley, most of the time I like to know what my partner likes. I like to make an effort (if any effort has to be made!) to please the man who's gonna please me smile And I'm waiting for the same on the other side. I don't like men without hairs but when there's too much I just don't like the feeling. Having the hairs tickling my nose during a blow job just distracts me a lot, it's so scratchy ^^

Even on an only personal point of view, I don't like having too much hairs. I trim what I keep and I epilate what would go out of my panties. Just because I find it more beautiful on me and I like to find myself beautiful. And even when I touch myself, I don't like feeling long hairs, don't know why! Oh and you're right Dev and Viva, NEVER shave your hairs, it's just reckless!! It just destroys that super-sensitive skin. And drives the hairs more than crazy !

Well, I'm about to have a try in an institute to take everything out for the first time. And that time, it's just because I'm curious!

I feel like anybody who gets to style your pubic hair should be paying you for the privilege.

I really like the way that Magnolia and Hyperballad groom their pubic hair. They manage to get the visual effect of a bush in front but hairless on the vulva lips perfectly. Their skin is so smooth and their hair so long and soft looking...

For example

If you know Magnolia, you know what's about to happen to this teacup

But I've never seen a totally full bush that I didn't love. Chica and Mew are just... WOW

Re: "hairy" pubes....

Chica's pubes are a perfect thing. They remind me of Andy Goldworthy's spiraling art pieces.

HyperB and Magnolia totally nail that look! Damn!

Ew. Viva and Dev: 1, Razors: 0

I might look into some razor free options sooner rather than later.  Also A++ for the above public hair styling! It looks super hot. I think my mine are too wiry and thick to look that nice.
