Germany's new stance on gender: "Whatever you feel like, man"

Pretty gosh damn interesting. How well do you all think this actually accommodates gender ambiguous/transgendered folks?

I think it's really good. I also had no idea that the Australian government had introduced a third gender option for official documents, props to us! Though it isn't clear if this applies to birth certificates.

Avoiding imposing a gender on your children must be easier in places that speak languages with gender-neutral personal pronouns. Now babies can officially be called es until they are old enough to decide if they want to change that.

It would be interesting to hear opinions from IFM users in Germany.

Aaah, the first article wasn't clear that this third gender only applies to intersex people. So people who are born anatomically male or female can't be put into the X category so they can decide their gender for themselves.

Most intersex organisations are opposed to it

On the other hand the new Australian regulations which are open to everyone have been well received
