This debut film on the horizon by Jacques magazine creator, Jonathan Leder, will explore themes of sex, violence, power, abduction and gorgeous, grainy Super8 footage. I love it already. The trailer is disturbing and disturbingly hot, upsetting in exactly the way I like to be upset. Go watch it! But also don't, ya know - if this sort of thing would haunt you. It's pretty intense.

I like the highly stylised look of some of the shots, but I'm not entirely sold on it as a film, cause it's a porno right? As in you'd only watch it if you wanted to watch a regular hard-core porn but wanted some artistic sensibility?

Maybe it's because I already had an awkward conversation about snuff films today but this is not doing it for me at the moment. I like having porno sensibility for regular everyday activities, not when it's combined with violence. I feel like your amygadala is already firing pretty high from the themes the film explores (implied torture) that it's kinda a loss to explore it in the cinematic format. And to attach a highly sexualised environment to it.

Seriously though, knowing me, on any other day I would be super-psyched to see film like this... *shrug

Yeah. I don't think it's a porno as in, a movie specifically made for the purpose of jerking off. I think it's a movie with sex in it. But I will probably jerk off to it and then text Nio like,  "can you bring my hair shirt to dinner tomorrow? I think I left it in your bathroom."
