Re: What is Good?

I've actually seen her outdoors in Austin on a sunny October afternoon, and god was she beautiful....so yes to the DVD....

Hey pretty baby come get high with me...
we can go to my sisters if we say we'll watch the baby
The look on your face yanks my neck on the chain
...and I would do anything to see you again

I think we might finally agree that there's an objective reality when millions - not just thousands - of people are dying because of global warming, sea levels rise to cause large areas of land to be flooded, most of the rest is desert, and species extinction has caused our food chain to collapse.

From the perspective of our planet, that would be good.

Re: What is Good?

But would the Earth want to be nearly all ocean and desert, half the species gone and constant suffocating heat?

Anyway, I think it's all a punishment on the lions for eating their own cubs.

Now why didn't I think of that explanation? I'm glad that's settled then.

Anyway, it's just a planet, for Christ's sake! There are loads of them!

Re: What is Good?

You know that feeling you get when you are in a crowded place and you catch the eye of some you think you might fancy, and they smile at you?

That's good.

You know that feeling you get when you help someone out who needs it, and they are truly appreciative and you expect nothing in return?

That's good.

You know that feeling you get when you get when you watch a particularly arresting clip from this site, and you can't believe that women are so DAMNED hot when they get themselves off?

That's damned good.

As for your first two points, I have no idea what you're talking about, but I would agree with your third point, though. Then there's a bit of confusion: do you think that more people should want to take it away? Is evil in fact understaffed?

Understaffed evil....when we have such top notch performers already in queue...

No, what I intended was that that old Paredo principle is very much alive in that so few are screwing it up for so many. I really should look at what I write, to make sure it better conveys what I mean. Thank you for raising the question, and I hope it was sufficiently answered.

Re: What is Good?

I understood what you meant. I just am that way (an annoying individual, that is). You needn't worry about your clarity - you write very well indeed.

Instead of trying to out self-deprecate you, I will just say...you are not annoying at all. In the threads I've read thus far, you are either there to help, or to throw in a humorous comment, neither trait even remotely annoying. But I don't want to hijack this thread, either, so I'll just say:

Japan is good. I've been here for 2 months, and it's been one of the best experiences of my life.....

If you've only seen me being helpful or humourous, then you haven't seen any of the, um, good threads. (Yes! I managed to simultaneously hijack the thread and stay on topic!)
