That story made the rounds among my circle of friends a few weeks ago. I was pretty skeptical at the time. Seems like a big conclusion to make from such a tiny set of anecdotal data. Turns out I wasn't alone there. Here's a Entomology prof's take on it:

Yay! Thanks Flatlander! yeah I wasn't sure either, the first article I read was the 2nd article I linked, and it was definitely humorous. I tried to do more research and when I found the 1st link I concluded that it seemed serrious enough to post. Funny, really, to think about regardless
