Re: What is your favourite tipple and how do you like it?

Look! A good thread like this, and I didn't even see it until now!

I'll drink anything but gin (I over-indulged in it in my twenties and can no longer stand even the smell of juniper trees) and poorly made beer (that is, usually beer with a lot of chemicals in it).

I particularly like Laphroaig single malt whisky and most kinds of ales and bitters that I have tried, my favourite being Kilkenny, but they've changed it - it used to be much better before they tried to make a half-arsed stout out of it. I'm also partial to a good Bloody Mary, but don't tell anyone.

And Blissed: do something about that. You don't drink, you don't smoke, you don't eat meat and I'm quite convinced you don't drink coffee either. No man without a flaw, yours being that you're too good for your own good. It gets on people's nerves 112.gif.

Blissed, I'm with you. This used to be my idea of a good time: Take 5 Vicodin, and drink a 12-pack of beer. Emerge from a blackout 14 hrs. later and feel lucky to be alive.

I'm used to feeling quite the motherfucker the day after drinking, but the reason why I don't drink all that often anymore is that I feel excessively tired for two days or more after the hangover. That's what annoys me.

Re: What is your favourite tipple and how do you like it?

By coincidence I lost my old orange squeezer at work and I've just bought a new one and it just occurred to me that this is one of my favourite drinks, 2 squeezed oranges. I have it every morning, it really is a beautiful drink.

Orange juice gives me heartburn, but then again most things do.

Citrus fruit juice has the same effect on me.  Anyway all that vitamin C can't be good for you.  I mean.  It's not natural is it?

Oh me too but I don't squeeze them myself and I also have carrot and watermellon and apple with them. Juice in the morning is the best!!

I had a similar experience with Southern Comfort, but it didn't take a whole decade of my youth to reach the tipping point (tippling point? <g>)... just one misbegotten night in high school. wink

Hmmm... "Don't drink, don't smoke; what do you do?" Somebody should write a song.

I once got really ill on Pernot.  I haven't been able to drink the stuff since.  Shame because it used to make me incredibly horny.

Good thing you have the Internet now, then, which has the same effect and only gives hangovers to some of us.
