Update 9/21/06 - All future updates will be on Sonicerotica

I think I will post my personal vision problems on a site
designed for the visually challenged, namely sonicerotica.com
and my vision related posts are in the VIP Info sub-forum..
I also think everybody here should check out sonicerotica.com
as they have some interesting stuff, and I am getting tired of
talking to myself over there smile

Yodays update.
Day 63 - September 21 - 9 weeks

Now I'm confused again because I seem to be getting
conflicting info from the benchmarks.

There appears to be changes in distortion and it seems to
have increased over the past 4 days.
Garage siding - horizintal spans 2 rows and one second both
rows go up, and the next second the bottom arcs up and
the upper arcs down.
Vertical offset appears greater but tough to measure.
The gray circle appears smaller on one check and unchanged
on another. I believe it is paler all over and it now has a slight
bulge at the 3 o'clock location.

Having said that my perception of my own vision makes
me think it is marginally better again in spite of the
apparent negative benchmark changes.

I changed the settings on Zoomtext yesterday to 1.5x
from last weeks setting of 1.75x. Some letters seem to
run together and skinny letters are hard to see. I find if
I move closer to the display and use the reading portion
of the bifocals, I can see if the letter is really there or if
I've made a typo.

The gray circle is looking more like it did prior to July 5th,
I previously said that it looked lacy or spiky around the
outside edge. Yesterday I finally found the descriptive word
I was looking for that was escaping me. It now looks as if
the circle is surrounded by cilia, or like eyelashes if you prefer,
faint but there, and I don't think I could draw it.

The lamp in the window across the street now shows up
almost immediately after I open the right eye only.
Occasionally the lamp is missing until I blink once or twice.
Can't tell if it is any brighter but it is not cycling on and off
as it was 3 to 4 weeks ago.

There is an imperfection in the paint on one wall I use for
another benchmark and I am 2 feet from the wall for this test.
Using the right eye only the imperfection disappears behind
the gray circle. Last week I had to focus on the wall about
1 foot  to the left of the mark in order to be able to see it
using peripheral vision.
Today I only have to focus 4 inches to the left to see it.

I also used that imperfection to benchmark the screwed up
left eye. If I focus on the mark, I can see it with the left eye.
If I focus 1 or more inches to the left or below it, the
imperfection vanishes behind the blind spot or scar that is
close to the macula.

The net effect of both eyes today is a combination.
If I use both eyes and focus on the imperfection, I can see it
(left eye over-riding the right).
If I use both eyes and focus 1 inch to the left of the
imperfection, I can't  see it, it is hidden by both the gray circle
from the right eye and the blind spot from the left eye.
If I use both eyes and focus 4 inches  to the left of the
imperfection, I can see it twice in peripheral vision, one faint
from the right eye and one sharper but up and to the right
from the left eye.

Back later.

Ashmedi is an ancient god of rage and lust.
I don't feel rage, but the lust part fits like a glove.
