Previews ?????????

Never mind.

What I wrote is below. Now I have to figure out why
I get 2 looks.

My saved favorites link takes me here
http://www.ifeelmyself.com/public/main.php?page=view
No preview on this one

Clicking "home" on the previously referred to link
takes me here to a totally different display
http://www.ifeelmyself.com/public/main.php
Preview is on this page in same location as before.

================================

I can't find a preview for next week.

Is this a temporary beta glitch or have
they stopped coming ??

I miss them.

Re: Previews ?????????

Today my saved favorite took me to the new look.

I don't see a preview anywhere.

Will it be there by next Friday?

Ashmedi

The preview for next week is already up on the home page, directly below the words "Free Tour" in the right hand column, only it is maybe a little misleading as it is headed: "This week on IFM" rather than "preview" or "Next week on IFM". ( Then again, I suppose that from Monday it will be "This week on IFM").

There is the usual thumbnail image with "launch movie" underneath. Once launched in the media player, it can then be downloaded in the usual manner if you so wish or played as a streaming video.

Hope the above info is of some help Ashmedi.

Re: Previews ?????????

Thanks JF

I did see that, but I'm not sure that "home" page
is the real home page since it doesn't have the
same selection buttons at the top or is the same
color scheme.

Now that I know where it is, I can get to it, but I
don't know why the preview isn't on the same Main
page the site takes you to by default.

Can you explain that?  We have only one main/home page.

Just logged back on one last time before retiring to bed and saw your post. (It's 02:54 now in the UK - this place really is addictive isn't it?)

No problem, glad you can now find the preview.

I'm not sure which URL you have saved as your favourite - mine is:

http://www.ifeelmyself.com/public/main.php

and that takes me to the page with the preview et al. and is the same page that loads when I then click on the "Home" tag in the left-hand column.

I hope I'm not "stating the obvious" to you, but I am aware from your regular updates of the problems you suffer with your eyesight and I hope the info helps you navigate the new site a little more easily.

On that note, I do sincerely hope that the treatment you are receiving for your eyesight gives you the long term improvement you would wish for yourself. (I've wanted to post my good wishes to you before on this subject, but as a relative "newbie" to the forum (although not the site) I felt a little reticent in doing so - I didn't want to intrude).  I can only imagine how difficult life must be for you from your detailed explanations of your problems and the treatment you are receiving. It does make me realise how much we take good, or even relatively good eyesight for granted.

On a far more trivial subject - I quite like your abbreviation of "Journeyfan" to "JF"! I do get tired of typing "Journeyfan" in full. I also wish I had thought up a more imaginative user name like yourself when I joined the site - something like "Northern Dreamer" comes to mind now. "Journeyfan" was just the first thing I thought of at the time, as I was listening to the rock band "Journey" in the background and I've been a "fan" for many years.

I suppose I'm stuck with it now - never mind eh - not exactly important in the great scheme of things is it? smile

Goodnight Ashmedi

Richard, the 2 links are in my first post.
I can only see the link to the preview on the second link,
and I assume the first link is the new final home page.

Re: Previews ?????????

Good evening JF, I'm just to lazy to type the whole name.
Any and all info is helpful.

Feel free to jump in and post, newbies are just
as welcome as anybody else smile
All of the upcoming updates will be at sonicerotica.com
and if you haven't been there, try it out.
Eyesight is a precious gift, losing all or some makes you
very aware of now much you need it. I hope the posts
are informative, and I hope I scare people into making sure
they have it checked and question every little thing that
doesn't look right.

I wondered about your alias, I like Journey too, and most
of the other groups of their era.

And yes, forums are addictive. It is now just after 11pm
in the great white north, and I'm off to bed.

Goodnight Journeyfan, .... or JF smile

I was wondering about your name. Just last month I checked out Journey's Greatest Hits from the library and made a perfectly legal copy of it smile . It brings back many memories of my teenage years (oops, just gave away my age).

Good morning Ashmedi, hope you slept well smile

Yes, I did note your earlier post regarding your upcoming updates being on the Sonicerotica forum. I have "visited" the site a few times and very much liked what I saw (sorry, that should read "heard"). I didn't really take a proper look at the forum there, but will try to remember to do so from now on. I have recently taken to wearing glasses (so far for reading only), and I think you are absolutely right about regular eyesight check ups, even if you do not suspect a problem - sound advice indeed!

Wonderful....a fellow "Journey fan" smile - Although I have extremely wide tastes in music, I have absolutely loved Journey since I first heard them in about 1978 or 1979, however, as they had never toured the UK before this year, I only got the chance to see them live earlier this year - apparently £30 tickets were selling eBay for around £300-£500 - thankfully I got mine within minutes of them going on sale smile

Despite the sad fact that Steve Perry hung up his microphone as vocalist in 1996, they were still absolutely outstanding in concert! I'm not ashamed to say that about mid way through their first track tears were streaming down my face out of sheer happiness....yes I really am that soft!...my wife and daughter who were also in attendance both thought it was hilarious! I just call it "passion" smile

I only wish I could have seen them with Steve Perry, who is the finest "melodic rock" vocalist I have ever heard, borne out by the number of of vocalists in other, less famous melodic rock bands, who have "tried" to imitate his style and including the current Journey vocalist, Steve Augeri, who does sound very much like Perry on a cursory listen, but is very much like comparing say cheap champagne with Dom Perignon . Whenever you hear him sing (Perry that is), his obvious love of the late, great Sam Cooke shines through, despite being in a very different style of music....I think I might have to post some "Journey" Youtube links on the "Currently listening to thread" - I've got plenty saved as Youtube favourites smile

Anyway, I could go on for hours about the delights of Journey's music, but I've probably bored anyone reading this sh*tless already!

Take care my friend

JF

Hi Adagio - hope you are well

"....made a perfectly legal copy of it smile" - I like it! lol

As I've just said to Ashmedi in the post above, I've loved Journey since '78 or '79 and that was my very late teens! So if your memories of Journey's songs are early to mid '80's, as many peoples are, then your probably "not as old as you think" smile

As you presumably enjoyed "Greatest Hits", I would recommend "Greatest Hits Live" which just shows how wonderful the band are "live". For studio albums, I would firstly go with "Escape", "Frontiers" and "Raised On Radio" although I personally also love 1996's "comeback" album "Trial By Fire", which features several heartfelt ballads brilliantly performed by the band and sung by - yes, you've guessed it - Steve Perry! Sadly it was after that one "comeback" album that all the problems resurfaced between the band and Perry and he decided to call it a day sad

Best wishes to you

JF
