Do STDs take the bragging rights out of being sexually active?

I'm sure in situations where people don't feel empowered (usually when your very young) and feel pressure from friends to have sex, if everyone has a good sex education and general knowledge of STDs it kind of lowers the pressure on everyone and helps people develop at their own pace. Any thoughts?

Re: Do STDs take the bragging rights out of being sexually active?

Well I've just discovered I can see the UKs cha 4 TV programs on demand on my computer so I naturally found one about sex :) Anyway, it was doc where a class of 15 year olds where shown the effects of STDs to scare them off sex because the assumption was that because they admit to seeing large amounts of free porn on the net this might and probably has in some cases misinformed them about what sex is really like or about. It was well intentioned but rather condescending, anti-sex and of course anti-porn, in a don't do drugs kind of way.

Anyway these 2 threads are the 2 positive thoughts that entered my head when watching this. I left them as comments on the website where surprise surprise they didn't appear :)  So I thought I'd post them here where someone can read them and if they want to, make a comment.

I'm not a huge fan of The Onion but you did just remind me of this: http://www.theonion.com/content/video/s … exposed_to

Sorry, it's a Monday and I don't have the brain power to contribute anything intelligent currently!
