I am a budding writer. My recent assignment in a creative writing class is to write from the perspective of the opposite sex. I have pondered many different ideas and usually I keep falling on soical issues, since my current major is sociology, yet I took every human sexuality class available too. My erotic writings have always been from the male perspective, which follows the old adage we write form experience. Recently I have been intrigued by astral projection and the astral sexual experience. My understanding is one can change sex astrally. My question is does anyone have any experience with this that can be shared.

Moving this over to 'general' where it seems to fit a bit better.

If it helps you with your writing project, I actually have a small chunk of heterosexual female libido sitting right next to my much larger male libido, and it has a much greater sense of wanting to be with someone I like and it loves to be the object of desire, where as my male libido looks for objects of desire. None of this can tell me what "women" desire any more than my male libido can tell me what "men" desire because both men and women are very varied. So if you find a way to imagine a female character I'd say make her as individual and distinct from other women as you are from other men.
Astral projection could work in the same way as a placebo cures an illness, if you believe in it, it could enable you to take your mind to other places, like accurately imagining being the opposite sex. It's been shown that hypnotism and other things that assist our imagination can enable it to control perhaps other parts of our mind it doesn't normally consciously effect. So you could under hypnotic suggestion imagine your a woman being held by a man and find you actually get some kind of erectile response :) mmmm my plans for Richard are definitely taking shape now :) So anyway, in that way I feel astral projection is more likely a strong assistant to our imagination, Tho it was used during the cold war to try and see things like hidden missiles many thousands of miles away http://www.irva.org/ so I think in some people it doesn't just assist their imagination but may open a sense they have that as yet, we know very little about.

I have to say, I have had definite thrusting and wanting to penetrate fantasies and urges, I have also had dreams where I have been of the opposite sex, although they were not sexual. But if you take on the idea that inside every person lays the possible human, (see Jean Houston), meaning, every possibility is open to us and it is only a process of selection that narrows it down, then within us still is the potential to be of the opposite sex as well (I guess transexuals are a case in point, the desire is real and felt), and although it might take some deliberate work and searching, theoretically we would be able to experience the same feeling. I don't have testicles, but I do feel a sickening lurch when I see someone crunch one!
