Ah dear! You caught me! I meant of course, 'languidly'! But 'laconic blood' is very funny to imagine, you have to admit.

I think though on some level I do feel like laconic means languid. It feels languid, as a word. It doesn't feel terse. I think of a lazy boy, drawling, teasing, a bit condescending. Laconic.

I'm the same way with approximate. To me, the word sounds like it means 'exact' - rather than the opposite. I used it incorrectly until I was a little too old to do so and I am still tempted to use it to mean 'exact.' There are some other words like that too - I just really want them to mean something other than what they do, and I find it hard to adjust.

Anyway thanks for catching that. It seems even an editor needs an editor from time to time.
