Hey all, I posted this on a different website then realised you awesome people might have some useful ideas for me to follow up on too! Woo!
Recently I've had an explosion of inspiration (accompanied by the insomnia inspiration often brings) and can feel the beginnings of a new exhibition within me.
Part of my process is often to do a lot of reading that compliments the conceptual aspects of my work and so I am wondering if any of you can point me in the direction of some good books, essays or even artists that deal with the intersection of sex and art, art and porn or all three? Art history stuff is great, art theory, anything really.
I know that's kind of vague, perhaps too vague but I am starting with some very rough ideas and part of the reason I find reading useful is that it helps me get a more concrete grasp of what, precisely, I would like to explore. I just need some words to help get me thinking and start the process of making art. Woo!
Any ideas are appreciated!

I don't kow if it will be of any help, but I'm a big fan of the art critic/philopher Arthur C. Danto. In his book "The Philosophical Disenfranchisement of Art" there's an essay called "Art and Disturbation." In his "Unnatural Wonders" there are the essays "Picasso Erotique," "Surrrealism and Eroticism," and "Christian Schad and the Sachlinchkeit of Sex". And there's an essay on Mapplethorpe in his book "Encounters and Reflections". Somewhere he wrote about Jeff Koons' paintings of himself with Cicciolina, but I can't remember where!
Cheers,
Matt
