Transgender Transformation

So I am about to post this in a few places, and I've been working up to it for a little while now. My latest obsession is with tranimals. Beyond changing gender, why even appear human at all. As always with cult trends vice is on the mark in covering it. You can read about tranimals here...

http://www.vice.com/read/why-be-a-trann … a-tranimal

The reason why I'm sorta posting ahead of myself here, cause i woulda rather formulated an answer to Hollywoods post about PC culture, is cause I just found out about the death of stalking cat...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalking_Cat

which made me feel rather sad.

hope all is well with everyone else

xx

Re: Transgender Transformation

I love the tranimals, I haven't connected too much with drag culture - or it's equivalent for women, which is... dressing up.. not being much one for the shoes and the makeup. But this, I like. I don't think I find anything too gender-bendy about it, but I like it.

Hope she can maintain her health long enough to benefit from a cure.

The tranimal thing looks horrible and interesting, like someone lifting a dressing to show you their injury, or the guys in a US prison with their own DIY eyeball tattoos.

The comic and grotesque feminisation of men is a valid artform but I prefer a look that's still male and feminised, but hot, which just depends on the body and the design and cut of the clothes and the ideas. Some of which could flow into high street mainstream fashion.

Re: Transgender Transformation

I hate to double post, but I guess not everyone is involved  in all the feck sites, so here is that link to Chloe talking about toast.

@Viva, jujubee on rupaul's drag race gave a really cool example of how women can relate to drag queens. She spoke about how when growing up, these ladies on the show (as young men/boys) would be targeted for their femininity,  and made to feel inferior somehow because of it. So they became drag queens to show the strength in femininity and the fierceness...

I'm so obsessed with RuPaul's show. I just had the best midweek holiday watching the whole of Season 1.... sigh there are only 3 more seasons left, i think i better start rationing it out..

Re: Transgender Transformation

In case anyone is interested in the secret lives of drag queens (cause let's face it, even a reality show is not a real representation of life) check out this survey of 60 queens....
