Fresh air and beer.

I'm thrilled to be here once again. IFM's always a breath of fresh air and so I'm going out to celebrate with a beer. Only had a few since New Year.
This calls for a round!

Re: Fresh air and beer.

Oooh, beer. I want that. I live on top of a pub, so I could just pop down (they close in an hour), but I probably shouldn't. I'd really like a nice cold Pilsner Urquell right now though.

Wow! Artemesia, you are the boss of willpower!

I have a bottle of my favourite pink champage in my fridge, it's called Bella and I am going to make out with her tonight, fold my washing and look at funny videos on youtube.

TGIF!

Re: Fresh air and beer.

I made pink champagne cupcakes last weekend and because they were glazed with the stuff, and the frosting was heavy on it as well, I actually got drunk on cupcakes.

Those were the first two alcoholic beverages I've had since the New Year. Not making an effort to not drink, I love the taste of beer, wine etc, I just don't like the feeling I get after a few drinks.
Congratulations on 4 months!

Re: Fresh air and beer.

Cheers WLV612, at the moment, I am in mega craving mode and with the weekend just starting (and of course all the uber-cool-super-queer-warehouse-cooling parties to attend) frankly I need the support. I am drinking in congratulations and support like a fish does water, whilst swearing like a sailor at my craves. Fun times!

Support is the key. As a smoker who has taken a 30 year break in between cigarettes and a Butterfinger junkie who hasn't had one since 2003, resisting any sort of craving is a tough proposition.
Just hang in there. Three members of my family were long term alcoholics. Heavy drinkers and as bad as it get's. All three quit however, the damage was done and all three died while lost in dementia. Perhaps one of the worst illnesses you can watch someone die from and all the doctors agree, it was long term, heavy alcohol abuse.
You don't need my input of advice, I'm just happy for ya'!
Is artemesia a popular name in Oz? If not..........hmmm?

Re: Fresh air and beer.

Well I survived tonite at any rate. That's really intense WLV612. I can see that kinda thing happening with one of my family members, and I'm also not looking forward to the hanging out with aging population in Australia. Dementia seems like a really scary disease. One of my worst drug experiences involved losing my short term memory (the ability to remember things for more than 10secs at a time), and I can just imagine the terror that some folk have to live with daily. I'm not too sure how far stretched it is to equate drug-induced psychosis with dementia, but damn I can imagine it hurts to be a family member looking in on that one. Way to go you WLV612, keeping a lid on that stuff when it's a family-orientated (genetically or socialised) is no easy feat! And I'm convinced sugar is the worst drug of all, just you wait to the waning moon when i give that one up for a month, my posts are going to be rather incomprehensible.

My name? I can't imagine it's a popular name in Oz, I spell it this way because of my continuous love affair with amnesia (drug related, or simply me being flaky- who can tell) and the herb herself. I've had one lovely experience with the green fairy, that I hope one day to repeat again. After the rest of me is under control wink

Re: Fresh air and beer.

Sugar is one of the worst things you put in your body. I'm trying to get away from sugar but it's in everything! Bread and alcohol are part of that chemical family and so there's not much left to eat.
Being single, it's a hassle to keep things to cook in the house and stuff goes to waste so I'm bad to grab anything with a Mac in front. I don't like to eat around people and so I drive through. Not a good way to have a healthy diet.
It's very expensive to eat healthy and organic. I'm down to water and coffee.

Your name. Hmmm? Yeah, drug abuse. I was lucky to have had an overdose early on and I quit all forms of drugs on December 27th, 1971. Take a lot of prescription stuff and decent weed would do much more good.

Back to your name. Oddest thing. I'll send you a PM. No need to reply. Just a puzzle.
