So many models have them and most are more original than what I see in my area. Magnolia's ultra-cool heart. Awesome. I love Amari's left sleeve and her anchor is almost like mine but I have a mermaid with mine. And her bluebirds are cool. That's a very old design and it's nice to see it's still around. Years ago, it was common on the hand between the thumb and forefinger. Most hand tattoos here have gang context so not so many around.
Going to get a horse shoe like Amy Winehouse had as a bit of a memorial. Big fan.
Best tattoo I've seen is the one Lena Heady has on her right (?) shoulder in, "Imagine Me and You."

LizInBinary has a beautiful tatoo on her lower back and contained in the tattoo is the nickname, ANGEL, spelled out in binary code ... very unique

One of my favourite things about trawling IFM clips is finding incredible tattoos and getting the most extreme type of tattoo envy - like you, I come from an area where I don't see many tattoos, original or otherwise. Every time I see a tattoo that I really like here on IFM, I need to remind myself that I've got more than enough tattoos at the moment and to hold back the urge to just run and book another appointment (the dangers of tattoos: you get one and it's like breaking a seal). To add to that, I'd rather look at ISM photos than flick through a boring-arse tattoo magazine (I tend to notice tattoos more on ISM than I do here - just better lighting for it, I guess, and whenever I see tattoos in the preview, I find myself clicking to see the whole folio just so I can attempt to decipher people's tattoos). Magnolia's heart tattoo definitely caught my eye recently and over on ISM, JF's tattoos are incredible, elegantly simple and follow the contours of her body so perfectly.

I've never looked at ISM though I should, however, IFM is an embarrassment of riches and all I'm capable of viewing with an eye on quantity and quality.
Getting inked is one of life's guilty pleasures. You make a statement. You present a side that others may not see in you and I always get really high after I get one.
Yes, it's a good thing my shop requires a book in or it'd be hard to say no.
I like A.K.'s characters down her back as they fit perfectly to her shape.
If you know of the Dutch singer, Anouk, she had a perfect sleeve but she went a bit too far, IMO and should have quit when she had nailed the look.
What I see in my area are done to death. And even though they're passe, gals are still getting, "Tramp Stamps". Which is the cool thing about the IFM gals, They go a bit retro or off the wall original. I've yet to see one that clashed with the model's natural beauty. I'm glad I'm not alone about Magnolia's heart. That is soooooo cool! But she's a beauty regardless.

I had to look Anouk up, but the photos I can see of her sleeve look spectacular. I'm curious now, what made you think she went too far? All the photos I can see are of a full sleeve with black patterns and flowers, but I'm guessing there would have been stages before that where she only had the flowers?

I'd have to see the photos you've seen but she did a version of her song, "Lost" (Killer song.) and this is when she had just the right sleeve.
She kind of went a bit over the top but she's been a bit more discrete in the last few years.
So many people have never heard of her, she's never been able to break through in the states. I dated a gal from the Netherlands when I was in Germany and that's when I became a fan.
She's got some really nice ink here and her voice.....

(Not a "clean" version of the song. Needs to be heard on a better format.)

I agree, I love Feckgirl tattoos! The majority do seem to have fantastic ones. I agree on JF, so cool, beautiful, so varied. The little laundry line is majestic. Did anyone watch her video on ISM? Serious swoonage. Purdey is also rocking some gorgeous body art.
Who else? NekoMarie won my heart with her Miyazaki sleeve and her eternal sailormoon heart in the middle of her chest. A pokeball on her finger? SWOON! Of course Magnolia's heart is classic. The little feet on Gala's back. I also love Severine's tattoo - she looks like just a sweet fresh innocent girl, and then she strips down and you see her tattoo - "queen of leather, whips and chains". Ahh!! So cool!
I always wanted a tattoo, but I never wanted to get one just for the sake of having one. When my tattoo came to me, it came in a big flash-bomb, I knew just like that. I was eating toast and beans in Peru when the guy who served me had the font I didn't know I'd been looking for tattooed on his forearm. 15 minutes later I was downstairs at his tattoo artist's parlour, getting my spiral inked on my shoulder. The phrase is one I'd been writing on walls and everywhere else for so long, it just made intimate sense to write it on the one thing which is unquestionably mine. Since then I've never had to graffiti it to remind myself -
"They can cut down all the flowers, but they can't stop the spring."

WLV612: Yes, I've never heard of her before, but I do like that sleeve a lot. Thanks for sharing.
Viva: Oh god, JF's videos made me fucking fall in love with her. It's rare to get such a potent sense of someone's personality and their motivations through such a brief window. I don't think I've ever been so emotionally involved with another contributor's videos before. I used to follow Purdey a lot on other websites, always looking for closeups of her tattoos - along a similar line, Dwam: hot damn!
I also love your tattoo story. I've been trying to get a proper glimpse of your tattoo (can't make it out in a lot of your stuff, but every time I watch something of yours I catch myself wondering what it is..!) The line is fucking incredible and I'm a big fan of getting tattoos at times that are memorable in and of themselves.
The first tattoo I got has an Anne Carson line underneath it from her translation of Sappho: "Because I prayed this word: I want." I got it put on me as a kind of personal, constant reminder and, like you, in the spirit of graffiti. I also, foolishly, got it in a spot where people can often see (it pokes out from under the hem of skirts), so I get frustrated with the constant questions of "WHAT DOES IT MEAN?" I get flustered and give explanations of how it's from Sappho ("WAIT, ISN'T SHE THE LESBIAN POET?") etc. It's not my favourite tattoo, though - there's a line of nerves tattooed on my arm from an old medical book as a visual reminder that I can be brave - nerves and all. They look like a cross between lightning and really delicate seaweed and people rarely pick what they are, but when they do, I find myself stupidly impressed. There's the Moby Dick quarter sleeve that just looks like "a cool nautical" tattoo to most people and receives no questioning glances except when they see the whole thing - white whale and Pequod in battle. It's probably the one I make token reference to when I'm trying to impress potential dates - I figure if they get excited about a sperm whale, they're potentially ok? Then there's the matching tattoos my closest friend and I got ("captio" and "veritas" - I was always captio, she was always veritas), etc, etc. I like that every one has a slightly different story, but all of them together are part of some process whereby I try to reassure myself that I am both strong and tough.

I have to agree with the comment on the ISM. There are some seriously talented folk out there putting tattoos on themselves and others. One of my fav's for the touches that little tatt's can bring is Van_Del. I love her finger tatt's and the little one underneath her eye. Her art is so cool, I can get the feeling that she did all the graff in the bg of her shoots too. No easy task I bet.
I also love zizoo's tatt on her upper thigh. I bet that there's a great story to it, similiar to some of yours, Dom C. I guess that's one of the things I love about tattooing, it tells a story about you, or reminds you of something important. And you can share it when it comes up, or giveup some rabbiting good yarns and tall tales to the unsuspecting.
Oh, I've also loved gina_cherie for the longest time, partly because of her sweet personality but also cause I dig that old school flavour of body-art she sports. smoking hot too.
I've only got one little tattoo, in the tramp stamp area as WLV612 put it. A friend and I got tattoo'd just after we turned cause he was bored and I had the idea. The interesting thing was that I found it changed me afterwards. It was a spontatneous decision to get it, and the artist whipped up a good impression of an ohm symbol, that in later years I've always attributed to to be my source of reckless energy, as it kinda looks like a little running man.... But I think we're going to make a tattooo machine at home, so other lil tatt's might start spontaneously appearing on my body very soon...
One day I'd love to do a tour and go hang out with all the talented ISM'ers out there and get them to tattoo me. That would be stupidly amazing and awesome.... Sigh.

Not meant to be a slight, that's just what they're called in this area. A lot of different ink trends have come and gone and it seems the old style or retro are the best bet. Sleeve work is popular but I've yet to see anything as nice as amari's.
Her's is nice work but it goes well with her hair length and color and her eyes.
She's also wearing a dress in the one series as if she came in from work and I'm seeing more of that now. Gals are allowed display their work at work. That's only been recently.

That's really nice. I like that. Of all the jobs I've had in my life the one thing I always wanted to be was a florist. To work with flowers. Green plants. I think there is a lot of serenity in vast amounts of green foliage.

I shouldn't do this, I really shouldn't but it's been screaming in my head since I read that. Where they, "Lima" beans?"
Sorry. I had to let that out.
There's one gal on IFM who had a ships propeller inked on her back which is cool and I think the same model had a traditional anchor on her foot or lower leg. I always notice nautical themes.

Interesting article, very disappointing how misogynistic the world is, all the time, in all studies, and again.
