Betty Dodson passed away on October 31st, 2020 at the age of 91.
My condolences, Betty was a great woman, artist, who was a courageous pioneer in the fight for the liberation of female sexual desire. I have been following her work since her first workshop videos in 1991. Along with the Californian group "House O 'Chicks", she was one of the few women who campaigned against the social ban on female orgasms.
I can now see from the Feck that her work is bearing fruit.

Hey You make me laugh, but a mourning veil should fall over my head.

Shere Hite died this year too. I have not read her books and the academic arguments about them, but anyone who gets people so angry for saying things like "intercourse is not many women's favourite way to have sex" and "many women will have more fun in bed if their relationship with that person out of bed is happy" does some good things
Res est arduissima vincere naturam,
in aspectu virginis mentem esse puram

Awww yes thankyou Betty for being a take-no-shit incredible pioneer and orgasm warrioress... what an incredible and inspiring woman. We are lucky to have Hyperballad and many women like her, who studied with Betty and will continue her good work in the world.

It still hasn't sunk in. I can't quite believe she's actually gone.
I am dedicating the first half of 2021 to finishing my BodySex accreditation. 2020 has been so tough in a myriad of ways, but I am going to transmute this grief into action.
The BodySex crew are mourning her collectively using the #40daysforBAD tag on instagram if anyone is interested.
