Ah... both sad and kind of exciting, I read today that sex robot sales have risen this year due to covid-19 and lockdown lonliness.

In a way it's sad because I want people to have the real human connection they're craving, but on the other hand, I love that people are expanding the repertoire of sex toys to provide more than just genital stimulation. Sex is about connection and humanity too, and why shouldn't more and more realistic masturbation toys be available? My interest is in where we'll find the line... and what will happen when technology improves to the point where masturbation aids are so convincingly real, people prefer them to the actually real thing....
so how about you all? Would you bang and be banged by a sex robot? Why or why not?

Not at this time. No BladeRunner & BladeRunner 2049, wigged me out. Especially “Joi” the hologram in 2049. I gotta admit, “joi” ( jack off instructor) was pretty witty. Perusing this topic the internet was interesting. Capitalism provides incentives for technology to exploit human vulnerabilities. I wonder how many of these guys with sex dolls Also use Viagra

Oh man I love both bladerunners and the novella... I hadn't gotten that joke about JOI either, thanks for that one
I wonder if you'd even want to use viagra with a sex doll. like isn't it good just to be able to be sexual the way you can/want to be, when there's not a real human there to be satisfied or unsatisfied or to judge? I feel like viagra's just for performance, literally, in that no one would take it unless there was someone they felt they needed to please.

Erectile impotence is unpleasant and distressing, whether the partner is real or artificial.
Were it to be reversed by a drug, that would be helpful and enhance enjoyment, whoever or whatever the partner.

During my “research “, I’ve seen old dudes on the beaches and at bath houses walking around with viagra-boners.

Yeah it is great that there is a way to enhance function. I'm glad men have it. I can't imagine how distressed I would be if my body part had to do a certain thing for me to have sex, if I wanted to have sex and couldn't... yep it would be super sad even without all the psychological, social, and relational expectations, which are already so intense.
