15th Annual Hump! Film Festival

Yesterday I tuned into the livestream of Dan Savage's Hump! Film Festival. Even though the circumstances (Covid-19) that made this possible are awful, it was really awesome being able to watch something that I otherwise would've had to travel to the US to see.

I found it really really fascinating seeing all the different and creative takes on erotica. The diversity of each and every film was incredible, each film bought something completely different to the table. Above all, I really appreciated the authenticity of these short films.

I'm wondering whether any other members tuned in (or plan to tune in to next weekends streams). If you have managed to watch this years, let me know your thoughts smile Alternatively, if you've attended the festival in person in the previous years, i'd love to hear about that experience too!

Re: 15th Annual Hump! Film Festival

Apparently the San Francisco Porn Film Festival will be online this year.  The idea of going to see porn with other people I'm not involved with feels strange but there is a first time for everything!

It looks like the California / New York porn people are dealing with some serious 'me too' issues.  Sovereign Syre is big on each creator having their own subscription sites, but the trouble with the subscription model is that as soon as you can't create you stop earning ... ideally as a creator you want to find a way to earn money from old creations so when you can't work you can still eat and keep a roof over your head.  And having one person perform and set up the lighting and shoot and market and handle the accounting and paperwork is a lot to ask.  And there are the people who want to be naked on the Internet, but not turn that into a career or a major side hustle, and can't put in the time that it takes to get a big paying audience.  So I hope there will be a place for Feck for a long time to come!
