Each vulva is unique and beautiful in its own way.

Therefore, never do cosmetic labiaplasty surgery! "Designer vulvas" are only for actresses in stupid mainstream porn.

I take your point, but let's call them "actresses in stupid mainstream porn" to avoid ambiguity.

Ok Howland, corrected.

I think you have to be careful. Just as you might roll your eyes at a perfectly fine looking person wanting a nose job, you would also agree that there are some with noses that are plainly out of proportion or symmetry and it's perfectly reasonable for that person to consider cosmetic surgery to improve their confidence. If you were a young woman with an extremely large or unbalanced labia (and I wouldn't put any of our contributors in that category), with the choice of cosmetic surgery or the emotional labour of dealing with partner's reactions, it would be unreasonable to criticise you for making that choice. It's not the same as getting an "outtie" converted to an "innie" because you've seen them in porn.

Every surgical operation is a very big intervention in my own body and I would only have it done in an emergency.
There are certainly rare situations in which cosmetic surgery could be worthwhile (physical pain, non-terrapable psychological complexes, fears of loss etc.). But in the vast majority of cases it is unsettled young women who still have the "Barbie" ideal in their heads and measure their appearance against it; –To the delight of some unscrupulously greedy cosmetic surgeons, of course.
By the way, I also find silicone implanted breasts ugly.

I'm with you there kyp on that one. Never was much of a fan of silicone implants on anyone. I prefer things au naturale myself, organic like.

The myth of 'designer vaginas' in pornography is just that, a myth. It's annoyingly pervasive but the bulk of women surgically altering their vulvas are civilian women, not sex workers. Take it up with Lulu lemon yoga pants & IG influencers.
As for telling women they're stupid or that the things they chose to do to their bodies are 'ugly' - this is the EXACT attitude that creates feelings of pressure & dysphoria for women regarding their appearance. Womens bodies don't exist for your approval & you don't get to only be respectful & kind to the women you find attractive or you approve of. We are more than our vulvas & breasts regardless of whether we've had surgery or not.
In a welcoming, positive space like IFM this thread is jarring & honestly quite upsetting.

yeah this thread makes me sad. we had an amazing ISM video recently from a woman who suffered breast cancer and had a double mastectomy, followed by breast implants. Are we now okay with saying her breasts are ugly, or she's stupid for wanting to have breasts again? And like, that's an extreme example, when we talk about cancer it's like, oh everyone has to say that anything they do is okay. But she wants her body to have a certain shape, so thanks to the wonders of modernity, she is able to choose that shape to some extent. It's ok to play with your body and change it. It's okay to experiment with what's yours, and it's a far cry from breast implants to dismorphic, problematic levels of plastic surgery addiction. People are navigating a world of beauty standards vs. the shapes they were born into, and figuring out their own way. Maybe they find happiness being "natural", maybe they find happiness changing their shape and form - maybe they change it and then find they wish to change back - our lives are our stories, our bodies are our vehicles, and everyone here is exploring.
We don't really allow people to come in here and say, "By the way, I find loose skin on a woman ugly" or "I hate when girls have small asses" .... so can we just not?
Also there are definitely women around here who have worked as actresses in "stupid mainstream porn". Seriously.. can we just not?

You write about cancer, so again what I wrote:
...Every surgical operation is a very big intervention in my own body and I would only have it done in an emergency....
There are certainly rare situations in which cosmetic surgery could be worthwhile (physical pain, non-terrapable psychological complexes, fears of loss etc.).....
Cancer is such an emergency.

So now I have more time to write:
By the way, my mother died of breast cancer as a young woman when I was a child and I still remember the bad sight of her amputated right breast, she had big breasts. Unfortunately, this surgery was too late, she already had metastases and after a year of suffering she was dead.
I hope my criticism of reckless and unnecessary surgical interventions in the human body is not misunderstood. Of course, everyone has the right to do what they want with their own body, even including suicide.
I live in a country where open opinions and criticism of everything are not only tolerated but also desired. My own view of something is all I do in this forum.

You're missing the point, kypris. It's ok to celebrate natural bodies and natural body hair, we celebrate those things too. but when you criticise women's choices about their body, and put down women who choose to make their breasts larger or smaller, or change the contours of their vulvas for personal reasons, it makes us feel bad when we read it. Just the same as guys talking shit about our natural bodies. So please, in a forum where naked vulnerable women are likely to read your words, just don't be mean or try and tell women what to do. We are happy to know what you love about us, and we don't really need to know what you dislike or find ugly. Thank you <3

Yes Viva, I understand, thank you.
I'm always a little afraid "our" beautiful IFM women are carried away by these, often inhuman, mainstream tendencies.

I especially love Lyndel's vulva in her two videos. "yogic healing 2" and "chakrasana".
Please take a look back and read the really good text by Hilde Atalanta (scroll down under "about").

Viva, I couldn't find your vulva type in the illustrations because you have a nice and strong clit. –Oh, and of course your beautiful pubic hair!
I especially love your vulva in video diary 2.4.

In this Native American system, which Juniper_A introduced me to, I think I am a Deer Woman.. or a Sheep Woman! The drawings and the casts look different. What do you think?

or even maybe a fox, when I am more open..

I'm definitely a Deer, although my external clit would be smaller than that pic & cast.
