My Ubuntu boxes are very un-dramatic, but they sometimes have issues where the speakers (or headphone ports) don't work. Noooo! That means that when I watch IFM videos on it I miss the best part!
Fortunately I have another laptop I can use until they patch things and still get the full audio-visual experience.
Have any of you had frustrating technical problems lately? Bikes with broken inner tubes? Beer fridge which broke in the peak of Aussie summer?

I can't find my headphones of which I had so many backup pairs but now I have none ;___________;

My laptop (not this one) seems curiously reluctant to let me type the letter "o" -- or to Open files (I have to pick Open from the menu). My workaround is to grab an "o" from somewhere and put it on the clipboard and just paste the "o" in when I need one. I'm getting pretty fast at it, but I think maybe I'll ask Santa for a new laptop (I been sooooo good this year ...). On the other hand, he's already on the hook for a Chase Bliss Blooper (don't google that, just try to imagine what that might be ...), and I don't know if I've been that good.

My work keyboard's backspace button comes off so in order to stop it from flipping off I have to press it with my fingers apart so the weight is evenly distributed on either side. I've been offered a replacement keyboard many times but I decline because (as far as I know) mine is the only one that is a gamer keyboard, so it's nice and sleek and has coloured backlights that you can change (I always choose TARDIS blue). Besides, I'm the only one who knows how to properly drive it, we're bonded now.
Howland my first guess was a buttplug that sort of crawled into you? I looked it up but won't spoil it for anyone else. I'm a bit devvo that I wasn't right though...

The E on my keyboard requires some serious pressing to make it work, which throws off the whole flow of my typing. And for some reason my @ key makes the " symbol and my " key makes the @ symbol, which is very annoying, because it isn't a problem on my work computer so i never quite get used to it one way or the other

Baulky keyboards are the worst! They try so hard to make laptops thin and light that physical durability often suffers.

I've never tried a MacBook Air (those are the really thin ones), but I hear that the most recent MacBook Pros (just out now) have supposedly solved the keyboard problem. Connectivity is still weird though, with only Thunderbolt out (like I didn't have a million USB devices ...)

What an adorably filthy mind you have, my dear. Not that kind of bliss, though, I'm afraid. Sorry to hear that you were (checks Strine-English dictionary) devvo!

Yay! The speakers and headphone jack work again on my laptop after a recent update.
