okay, yep. according to this super scientific, fully reliable news article in academic quality journal/porn site "bellesa.co", eating healthy and probably with lots of delicious fermented foods can increase the quality of your sex life and orgasms. I mean, I buy it. Less bloating and discomfort, happy gut emotional connection, hormone regulation, stronger metabolism - those sound good.

What do you guys think? Does eating well actually improve your orgasms, or can we still come just as hard on a diet of maccas and diet coke?

Well for me full belly usually means nap time, not sexy time, but when my partner brings Maccas in bed, more often than not, leads to great sex!

An excellent article. That's exactly what I've been practicing for many years: a healthy, balanced diet, no alcohol abuse and lots of exercise, but also rest and enough sleep. I am not overweight, I feel good all over what certainly has a positive influence on the entire sexual experience. I can only recommend this lifestyle.
Incidentally, my thesis: when in the development phase from primate to homo sapiens the fire became used for fried and boiled food, because of easier digestion, much energy was released which led to the further development of the brain. So, the connection stomach–gut–brain is quite plausible.

oh interesting kypris! was that the topic of an actual academic thesis you did, or just an idea you have?

No, I don't want adorn myselve with borrowed plumes.
I took up this theory because I find it plausible. It is a scientific hypothesis but as far as I know not verified. There are so many theories about animal-to-human evolution and most, except Darwin's theory of evolution, have not really been empirically proven.

I know at least that certain herbs at certain dosages can increase your overall sexual pleasure. I think of all the ones that purportedly do so, Maca Root is the only one I could recommend based on several positive studies.

orgasm have you tried it?

The most obvious & widely reported 'herb' for enhanced sensation & pleasure is cannabis. I've personally had great results over the last few months with the tincture I make (THC & CBD) & also topical CBD.

I want topical THC for my pleasure like yesterday.

I have indeed tried Maca, Viva! There was definitely a difference in my overall pleasure and desire after taking it. I used to drink a tea that contained it, but it seems to have been discontinued. I know it often comes in pill form at vitamin stores and whathaveyou, so I'm sure you could find it if you wanted to see how it works.

Hi Viva
Now I have found the right book with this fire-cooking theory:
Richard Wrangham,
Catching Fire: How Cooking Made Us Human
ISBN-13: 978-0465020416
ISBN-10: 0465020410
The groundbreaking theory of how fire and food drove the evolution of modern humans
Ever since Darwin and The Descent of Man, the evolution and world-wide dispersal of humans has been attributed to our intelligence and adaptability. But in Catching Fire, renowned primatologist Richard Wrangham presents a startling alternative: our evolutionary success is the result of cooking. In a groundbreaking theory of our origins, Wrangham shows that the shift from raw to cooked foods was the key factor in human evolution. Once our hominid ancestors began cooking their food, the human digestive tract shrank and the brain grew. Time once spent chewing tough raw food could be sued instead to hunt and to tend camp. Cooking became the basis for pair bonding and marriage, created the household, and even led to a sexual division of labor. In short, once our ancestors adapted to using fire, humanity began. Tracing the contemporary implications of our ancestors' diets, Catching Fire sheds new light on how we came to be the social, intelligent, and sexual species we are today. A pathbreaking new theory of human evolution, Catching Fire will provoke controversy and fascinate anyone interested in our ancient origins-or in our modern eating habits.

kypris this is awesome, thanks for sharing. I wonder what this theory means for people who embrace a raw foods diet these days? are they setting up their descendants for big guts and small brains?

hahaha ... maybe, good consideration. A brain the size of a pea would certainly be more comfortable to carry but where to go with the big stomach of a cow? The worst case for global warming due to the resulting increase in CO2 emissions.
