Its pretty rare for a contributor on IFM to use lube other than spit, even with rough penetrative play like gina cherie in "Planned Obsolescence." I am sure that just the thought of shooting for feck gets the contributors wet, but is lube pretty much a "sex with guys" thing for them? I would hate to think that this is another case of men inventing a technological solution for a communication problem ("lets make out a bit more ... yes, hand there, wait- file your nails a bit then you can finger me")
When I masturbate, I often use water-based lubricants like Acquaglide with penis sleeves or when I want to change the sensation or keep going longer, but penises are not self-lubricating the way vaginas are.

That's why men have a sensitive and strong foreskin. No lubrication is needed unless they are circumcised, which is one of the biggest silly things humans have ever invented.

kypris I'm not a guy, but if I was and circumcised, which many American men are, I would feel kind of bad reading your comment
priv, to your comment - I think I only use lube for anal play or to help a guy get a cockring on or something. otherwise I'm not too externally wet before penetration, but a little spit or warming up and patience and once I'm wet enough to be penetrated, I get super wet during penetration so.. lube's just not something I really want or need.

Sometimes I use lube, sometimes I don't, but I can't recall if I've ever used lubricant in any of my IFM content. It really depends what I feel like & also where I am in my cycle. When I'm ovulating I nearly have to put a towel under my ass I make so much wetness. Sometimes I enjoy super slippery play or sex so I use lube & quite a bit of it, otherwise a couple of drops will do. I always use water based lube on my vulva & silicone for butt sex.
Also: all cocks are valid, circumcised or not.

So! Lots of people with vaginas use lube - with partners and by themselves. Wherever possible I like to include it in my edits (maybe we should start a list! Ana B comes to mind and Zazi up close - especially p2!!) - a lot of people struggle to produce natural lubricant and that can be due to a myriad of reasons. Anti-depressants can inhibit your sex drive, ability to have orgasms and ability to produce wetness. Inadequate foreplay can definitely be a factor, sometimes you might wanna get straight to the point and skip the build up! So lube is great. Let's fight the stigma! Vaginas aren't wet 100% of the time lol
Using lube is important for D in the V sex when condoms are involved, natural wetness can dry out and that friction can cause tears in the condom - eeek!
A lot of people like coconut oil but personally I'm not a fan - the oil messes with your PH balance (some people swear by it so I guess it depends how sensitive your flora are!) and the jar itself can be quite unhygienic, touching your genitals - scraping oil out of the jar then back to genitals then jar then genitals then jar then putting it away for nest time... All sorts of fun stuff can live and grow in there! Also not to be used with condoms - it'll eat 'em!
I haven't had much personal experience with silicone lube but I've heard that it's less likely to cause irritation and infections like thrush - I'd be interested in hearing more about it if anyone has experimented with it! I do wonder about the clean up........ Ah.. Internally shall we say

All of this is very, very true Mew!
I have a detachable shower head with a jet function so I usually have a shower after anal play of any sort & I get right in there with a little Dr Bronners & a good stream of warm water.
Incidentally the fisting & squirting workshop I went to by Girl Ang recommended a mix of 50/50 water based lube & silicone lube. I gave being fisted a red hot go at the workshop & found the blend to be a good balance, didn't have too many issues with clean up either.

I used to feel so painfully self-conscious because I don't get very externally wet I thought there was something wrong with me.

I don't get 'reliably' wet either Viva, it was one of the reasons I postponed my very first IFM shoot... I was SO worried I wouldn't get wet.

I saw an opportunity to bring this difficult but important topic up for discussion again.
Facts we need to know:

Circumcision Myths:

ok, back to the thread: silicone based lubricants, as Mew mentioned, are highly recommended also because they do not destroy the condom rubber like the oil based do. However, silicone-based lubricants have the disadvantage that they can attack the soft surfaces of the sex toys. For the use of toys water-based sliding gel is better.

I am a circumcised American male, but speaking only for myself, I don't feel bad. It was a decision my parents made using the information they had at the time, and society/sexual mores have changed so much since then.

Thanks everyone who has answered so far! Like Mew said, different vaginas in different circumstances make different amounts of wetness, so I did not just want to assume based on my experiences with a couple of ladyfriends who never got up to anything as heroic as some of the contributions on IFM.
And oh yeah, coconut oil ... who was it with an insertable jade toy and a wood fire in an Aussie winter (Liandra Dahl?) And there was the recent shoot with massage oil, but in that one the hands stroking and teasing and pressing belonged to a guy who probably does not have the same plumbing as the lucky lady.

I think coconut oil as lube can be good, but like anything that goes on/in your genitals you gotta test it & see how your body reacts. I also personally wouldn't be using any sort of oil, lube etc on/in my vulva every single day, I reckon it would disturb the balance eventually. I do believe there's a grain of truth to heavier oils potentially building up in your body.
At the moment I'm working on formulating a THC infused coconut oil, specifically for women to use as lube & to help with menstrual symptoms. Who knows, if it's as good as my research says I may get an opportunity to share the results with y'all.
I find that your curiousity & questions are always communicated respectfully privignus. I really appreciate it.

I want cannalube so much. I almost bought some in the US but for some insane reason I didnt

Cannalube sounds amazing. I know of a brand called Foria - they made a very sexy little ad for it once - https://youtu.be/ARcuVTbYVWE

Magic Hyperballad! It's insane how powerful it is medicinally - I once saw a video of a teenage boy having an intense seizure, his mum rubs cannabis oil on his feet and within seconds the seizure has stopped.
I imagine medicated lube would be amazing for people who suffer from endometriosis too, what a joke that people are so afraid of a lil plant! Who cares about legal recreational use - stop holding out on the people it can really help!
Also re coconut oil as lube, it's pretty easy to keep that shiz hygienic - just spoon a small amount into a little bowl or jar. And no double-dipping! No judgment if it's your preference
Cut vs uncut! The debate of the ages. I've been with circumcised and uncircumcised people and I don't mind either way! It is kinda brutal that people with cocks don't get to choose though. Foreskins seem to require less lube maybe? On the flip side I've come across people who have super tight foreskins, where it is painful or not possible at all to pull it down past the knob. I guess it would be harder to clean and involuntary pain during sex or masturbation sounds crap.
You're not "less of a man" if you've had a lil snip or decide to have on e later in life! It's just a bit of skin! And shout out to the people who are grossed out by foreskins - again, IT'S JUST SKIN lol. I read an article with a man who got cut as an adult due to health reasons, he reviewed his sensitivity before and after the procedure - apparently his knob was quite sensitive for a week or so and then it went back to normal, his pleasure was not affected!
Anyhow, enjoy that tangent

Mew: "It's just a bit of skin!"
Ha, that reminds me of a joke I just heard:
Woman 1: Here's a riddle: what's that useless bit of flesh at the end of a penis called?
Woman 2: I don't know, what?
Woman 1: A man.
Yow! 8-)

Bahahahaaa! Classic!
Also Hyperballad thanks for the Dr Bronners tip! I've seen it around but never known much about it - I use QV super gentle soap on my sensitive bits - gotta get me a detachable shower-head though!! For multiple reasons.

Apparently some soldiers serving in North Africa and the Middle East in the '14 or the '39 were ordered to get circumcized on the usual pretext of 'hygene.'
Every few years someone comes along with a new health argument for male circumcision, but I suspect that its like all the other ways communities scarify or mutilate their children and teenagers: basically a way to mark the ingroup which attracts just-so stories to rationalize it.
Glad to hear people talking about what lube (or lack of lube) works for them! Bodies don't come with a user's manual!
